Brain Food

By Khmer Democrat, Phnom Penh
Brain Food, in celebration of World Teachers' Day

Once children learn how to learn, nothing is going to narrow their mind. The essence of teaching is to make learning contagious, to have one idea spark another.

Education makes well informed citizens. And it is almost impossible for the political parties to buy their vote. When the citizens are educated they unite and get along well. And the country moves forward in the right direction to prosperity. You don’t have to look far Singapore is a good example.

How can Cambodian children learn when the leaders are so stupid, they don't know themselves the value of learning or learning how to learn, so they restrict everyone in society from learning to be stupid like them.

In Cambodia they value the connection over the education. That why they are in this big mess.
It takes a well educated and good leader to change it. As for HS fuck him and his cronies.

My dear 6:44 PM

I think they know what a good education is, otherwise why they send their children to be educated in the west but not in Hanoi? And they know that the Viet encroach Cambodia too. They have their children buying properties in the west, and when time comes they pack up and leave. Mostly the average and poor Cambodians are left to suffer as the consequence of their vicious deeds.

You're wrong!
Hun Sen will never be able to learn, about 60 years he still dream again about dictatorship :)

Everyone is for education, even the stupid, like the CPP. But want they don't know is exactly how education works, the importance of learning how to learn. They don't build quality education within the country, they just only think of themselves by sending their children to good western schools. It's like people who don't know fashion, but they do know what is the expensive good brand and follow the crowd in buying the expensive brand; it doesn't make them look good or fashionable.

we have a bunch of stupid idiots running the country, with no good ideas, that's our problem!!

Learning takes place only when behavior changes. It's different from going to school and study just to pass a test. Many people theoritically know many good things but never apply their knowledge. So learning doesn't occur. On gthe contrary, some people know a lot about bad things and use their knowledge to harm other people, therefore, learning occurs.
In Cambodia, many leaders know many bad things and use their knowledge to opress their subordinates.

Yeah those idiots bring Cambodia back from the killing field to the living field, from total isolation to the world community, from year zero to one of the fastest growing economy in South East Asia, from totally slave under the Khmer Rouge to free market economy, from no school to have school both public and private from elementary to universities, from no money to have money, from Phnom Penh ghost town to millions of resident today. Yeah they are so stupid!

As long as they are this stupid, those stupid people will continue to vote for them. How can you blame stupid voting for stupid!

Anonymous said...

8:32 PM the stupid were given billions of dollars (other people's money) to do all of this, and if you're going to use the Khmer Rouge as the standard, ok you are ONE shade better. What a standard!! And we are beggars. Let's try to aim a little higher, shall we? But again stupid leaders are so narrow and limited they cannot think any higher or aim any higher.

HS is worse than dogs. Dogs respect their owners who feed them.

Hun Sen aon chieng ach maon kak saet kam.

You are educated enough to know that pol pot’s regime was the worst in the world.
How can you be proud of HS’s regime being better than pol pot’s? Shame on you!
The cavemen were better off than the khmer lived under pol pot, because they were free to look for food...

It's not just Hun Sen fault for everything and every failure in Cambodia.

Everyone should take responsibility for the failure of society. What is society made of? Individual units-you and me!

Look at Cambodians oversea! I know I see them, and I say this because I know some older Cambodians also read this news so here it is:

Why you let your children join gang, play billard, speak ebonics, dress like prison convicts and drop out of high school WHEN YOU ARE IN A FREE COUNTRY ALREADY!

YOU FAIL YOUR CHILDREN! See, this is not a just a Kampuchea/Cambodia problem, this shows it is a Khmer problem! You people don't give enough value to your own children's education.

Whereas the Viets/Chinese/Koreans/Japanese held education in high regards, you Khmer people, let your children roam the streets and like like SLAVES! Slave of what?! YOu're not under Hun Sen! You're not under any dictarship but your own absurdity!

So, STOP BLAMING EVERYONE ELSE, and start taking PART in OWN!

BE the CHANGE YOU WANT!

Anonymous said...

Some people want changes just for the sake of changes - it does not matter if changes are bad or good, or they're ready for changes or not.

Look at the opposition today. They want a regime change, yet they have nothing in place to show that they can control/manage the change. All they have done is talk and talk, but no action beside running away at the least sign of trouble.

Do you know a leader responsibility is?
To clear your mediocrity, let’s make it easy for you to understand, if a corporation fails, the CEO gets filed.
If HS doesn’t want to be blamed, he can step down.
You must be on cpp payroll

9:31PM,

Why should HS step down? so that an incompetent guy like you can take over? I don't say HS is great, but if you think you're better than him, then prove it!

Hey progress take time. Even America took over 200 years to become what they are today. HS doesn't have magic wand that he can just wave it and fix everything. You measure progress by knowing where you start. If Cambodia start from nothing in 1979 with almost all the educated people killed by the KR. It will take at least 20 to 30 years just to replace the human resources that were lost. The country need to also rebuilding infrastructure, economy, social moral, and many others. So to expect Cambodia to be like the United States or France in 20 to 30 years from year zero, it is not possible yet.

Despite of all his shortfalls, HS remains the most capable leader we have today. Until someone can prove he's better than HS, people will continue to support HS even they don't agree with him.

I'm curious why Dr. Peng-Meth doesn't put his name and picture on his article anymore.

Look at Singapore, it had nothing, but with a smart, intelligent leadership, it multiplied its benefits for its citizens. It comes down to POOR LEADERSHIP, the problem with Cambodia. Sam Rainsy is different.

Not all Cambodian kids are bad. But let's look at the bad one, are their parents well educated? The majority of well educated parents have good kids. The same goes for the minority of good kids come from under-educated parents.
And how can you compare our children whose parents are the left over from killing fields to the other Asian kids?

Different in what way? You and I know that good talk and intention don't solve our problems. What we need is not good intention alone, but strength and courage. Without these two attributes, good intention is useless in Cambodia. and please don't compare our country to singapore. Most of our people only want to party and easy life. They don't value hardworking as Singaporeans

Yah, you can say it to yourself.
He has been in power for some thirty years now, and who do you want to compare him with, there is nobody else running the show. And he makes sure to prevent the leadership change to happen.

That because Ranaridt, Sam Ransy and so on are inept to come up with a winning strategy/compromise to unseat HS. Instead Rannarid and Sam Rainsy were busy figting each other until they are both eliminated by HS one after the other. Ranaridth and Sam Rainsy have no one to blame but themselves.

Cambodians are very hard working, but physical labor. We live in a knowledge society, but the leadership make the system so everyone is working like crazy but not with their minds.

Anonymous said...

That's exactly the loser mentality. Keep blaming others and stay miserable for the rest of his life, rather than doing his best to learn something useful or work harder/smarter to improve his living standard.

Without Khmer overseas and the pressure from the free world, you and your blood suckers will probably be eating Vietnamese corn on a daily rationing meal. Go back and look at where you and your blood suckers government came from before barking like a Youn dogs.

Anonymous said...

The real patriot/good Khmer overseas came back to help the country by investing in country economy, teaching poor kids, making donation to build schools, hospitals, ...and so on. The bad Khmer overseas always rant and jealous because they think they deserve to be a ministerial position in the government. To those bad apple, I say get lost and don't come back!

The cost of education is very high in Cambodia. I don't think any of you guys out there in the WEST is willing to drop thousands of dollars A MONTH on your child's education as we do here in Cambodia....for ELEMENTARY LEVEL. so don't give me that shit that we here don't value education.
