Freedom by Paul McCartney, Nobel Peace Prize 2001

FREEDOM
Paul McCartney
Nobel Peace Prize 2001

This is my right, a right given by God
To live a free life, to live in freedom

We talkin’ about freedom
Talkin’ bout freedom
I will fight, for the right
To live in freedom

Anyone, who wants to take it away
Will have to answer, cause this is my right

We talkin’ about freedom
Talkin’ bout freedom
I will fight, for the right
To live in freedom, ah yeah, com' on now...

You talkin’ about freedom
Were talkin’ bout freedom
I will fight, for the right
To live in freedom

Everybody talkin’ bout freedom
Talkin’ bout freedom
I will fight, for the right
To live in freedom

Why you don't talk freedom during pol pot took over? Or you scare on that regime? Right you can go anywhere in Cambodia and you talk about?

I wonder why this guy keep crying about freedom everyday. Is he writing it from prison or something?

As far as I know, Cambodia has all the freedom one can wish for. Even many Cambodian from the US, Australia, France and many other countries are going back to live in Cambodia. If Cambodia has no freedom like we were during the Khmer Rouge regime, no one going back to live there.

However, for those who bring trouble on themselves and then cry wolf, then no one can help. If you are making trouble in the West, you will be in trouble too. This the Buddha call Karma. If you live in peace with everyone, then you will be in peace and free.

Great job, Khmer Democrat and KI Media.

By the way, people did 'talk' about freedom under Pol Pot, and they were persecuted for having done just that. In fact, if that regime has taught us anything, it is that tyranny only tolerates and approves the 'freedom' of a tiny minority to enslave and imprison the rest.

The present regime - an offshoot of the above - has retained its core totalitarian trait, albeit with cosmetic lip service commitment to the idea and principle of democratic freedom.

Rather than murdering people en masse for being enemies of the Party or Angka, it executes, threatens and tortures selectively identified activists and pro-freedom or civil group leaders. These could be teachers, civil servants, reporters, newspaper editors, opposition parties and their affiliates, villagers . . .

The objective is to stifle democratic voices or keep them to a manageable minimum; to ensure public dissatisfaction and discontent with the regime does not reach boiling-point, becoming manifested through collective anti-regime protest or action of any kind.

There will be bruises and burns along the road to Freedom for ordinary people, but their sacrifice will not be in vain, for people cannot live where Freedom itself is Dead!

Come on, stop bury your head in dirt and blame others. No Youn or Chinese, but Khmer kill Khmer because of hatred. Pol Pot, Noun Chea the top two leaders who paranoia of Youn led to many killing. Pol Pot regime was a biggest disaster in Khmer history. So stop making excuse for them, unless you are one of the Khmer Rouge also.
