Ayai is a type of traditional singing duet which is registered as a Khmer heritage, however, even though Ayai is a valuable art, the number of Ayai singers is very small in Cambodia currently. Prum Manh is a well known artist with attractive voice and he is also a skilled comedian, both for his content and his acting. He is concerned about the future evolution of the Ayai art.

7:31, you're wrong! What you mean to say is Mr. Prum Manh's ayai only impresses uneducated people.

I am suprised that KI puts him up as part of a "rare heritage". He is disgusting, sexist, and he uses his witty word play not educate and tell stories as traditional ayaist do, but rather he does to make nasty jokes about copulations, sex etc.

None of his songs are about anything constructive or identifiable as "Khmer" cultural values.

The only think I think he should be commended for his poem about Khmer children's respect to their children and hardwork. other than that really wonderful poem, he is just a really nasty and vulgar personality with a really good talent for stringing up witty Khmer sayings infused with his jokes about sex.

For me i think all of you above don't know him well.If all of you want to how bad Mr Manh was please come to Stockton California and asking people who living at Kelly drive you will know that he fucked somebody's wife the husband just past away six months ago.Main point he is not an educated person!

Make no mistake Ayai can be beautiful, poetic and funny as sung on radio by Ta Saluot/Saram Pak etc.. in the old days. Ayai demands a mastery of khmer poetry and Prohm Manh has incredible skills with the language. But he is also a master at the worst kind of sexual inuendoes, racial putdowns, verbal abuse and perpetuation of stereotypes that unfortunately a lot of khmer people find funny or worst, witty. It helps him sell his shows. To be charitable however, maybe he only reflects what is the most vulgar in our khmer society, and we khmer do like to laugh at ourselves more than on anything else. the cat.
