The VELVET REVOLUTION

By Khmer Democrat, Phnom Penh

Expanding our Mind Series

Real life encouragement and examples for our Cambodian students, labor unions and 13.8 million freedom-loving population. There's also an example for our Dictator Hun Sen to emulate.

The
Velvet Revolution (November 17 – December 29, 1989) was a non-violent revolution in Czechoslovakia that saw the overthrow of the authoritarian government.

On November 17, 1989, a Friday, riot police suppressed a peaceful student demonstration in Prague. That event sparked a series of popular demonstrations from November 19 to late December.

Eleven days after the initial student protest, on November 28, the Communist Party of Czechoslovakian announced it would relinquish power and dismantle the single-party state. 12 days later on December 10, President Gustáv Husák appointed the first largely non-communist government in Czechoslovakia in over 40 years, and then resigned [Dictator Hun Sen, here's an example to follow.]

One symbolic element of the demonstrations of the Velvet Revolution was the jingling of keys, to symbolize the unlocking of doors.

Václav Havel
(born 5 October 1936 in Czechoslovakia) is a Czech playwright, essayist, dissident and politician. He was the tenth and last president of Czechoslovakia (1989–92) and the first president of the Czech Republic (1993–2003).

7:40 PM, do you ever read the newspapers and the reports on Cambodia from more independent sources? Do you have eyes to see the MAJORITY of Cambodians who are demanding basic necessities and rights? Or are you so cold-hearted or do not even have a heart to care?

7:40, why then does the government restrict freedom of assembly and need to create "freedom park"? what a stupid name, as if people cannot see through it.

My personal advise to Mr. Sam Rainsy,

Sir - if you're not ready to fight, don't get yourself into a fight. It only humiliates you and makes your opponent feel stronger psychologically.

In my life, I always try to avoid fighting, but if someone imposes it on me, I fight to the bitter end. I fight to win, but if I ever lose, I make sure my enemy finds his victory taste just as sour as my defeat!

The best person whom we should ask about that is Sihamony.
He studied many years there I think.

7:40 PM
You and a few others like you are happy, doesn’t mean that the rest of the country is happy. At least HS knows, but he chooses to ignore it, but you are so blind.

7:40PM is more blind than Hun Xen is. Hun Xen is a second dictator after Pol Pot. If not being stopped soon, Hun Xen, his families, and all his crooked comrades will be the sole owner of our beloved country, Cambodia. This Cambodia of ours will become a military dictatorship country. Here are two main facts:
1-Recently Hun Xen bought about 100 tanks from Russia. He has a hidden motive behind it, and his motive is to strengthen his power, under the pretex of dfending Cambodia against Thailand's invasion, which perhaps will never happen if Hun Xen and his comrades are still the trusted puppets of Vietnam.
2-Last week Hun Xen promoted Hun Maneth to be lieutenant commander of his bodyguards brigate, just like Kim Jung Il promoted his sister and his son, to pave the way towards a complete dictatorship.
3-Hun Xen knows that Sam Raingsy is strong enough or even stronger to challenge against him in the future, so he tries to do everything possible to kick Sam Raingsy out of the Cambodian politics arena. As alot of Khmers living in the well of mud of Cambodia are happy with their lives living under the second Pol Pot, perhaps in the near future Hun Xen and his comrades will accoplish their goal.

This will only happen after another revolution and war. But most of us, don't want, because we in Cambodia are very tired with its.

We want PEACE WITH JUSTICE. "peace" like it is now is like "peace" in North Korea, no war, but everyone is dying slowly, except for the military few.

Wars came already,
1) Purchase of Tanks
2) Hun Manet becomes Hun Sen successor
Prepare yourself, CPP members and supporters.
All that are for you.
