The Cambodian Takmoa Agriculture and Industrial Development and the Vietnamese Thai Thinh Company have signed a US$22.4 million contract to plant 20,000ha of rice for export.
The Thai Thinh Company will provide assistance and support for rice cultivation and processing for two Cambodian provinces, Kompong Cham and Kompong Svay (KI-Media Note: where is Kampong Svay province?).
The two sides will develop a water drainage system in the area and build a rice processing factory capable of producing 500 tonnes of rice a day in January, 2011.
Lim Kimkhun, Chairman of Cambodian Takmoa Agriculture and Industrial Development said that both sides will cooperate to produce 2 harvests a year with an average yield of 7 tonnes per ha and a target to export 200,000 tonnes of rice by 2012.
The contract will also generate works for nearly 280,000 Cambodian farmers.

If the Cambodian farmers were to be employed by the Viet Company, the Viet would treat them like shit, so they would be replaced by the Viet.
Cambodian government should encourage Cambodian small and emerging businesses and group farmers to expand their farming... I disagreed to totally to help foreigners to expand our capacity to export rice. If the government continue this path, eventually Cambodians will only be the workers for foreigners. By then, it is too late and the government will not be any land available for Cambodians. Without care, the Cambodian farming industry is much the same way like in Cambodian tourism industry, only the foreigners benefiting from the growing tourists numbers, while Cambodian are left scavenging for the left over.

We all Khmer must to see that why the Uncle Ho always wanted to annex Cambodia, from day by day they will come more, return back NO, they setlle to Cambodia day by day every can see, but CPP are blind, some of them know and see for their eyes no say nothing, opposite the CPP try to bring their children to get out of Cambodia, that is the fact. But most Khmer are sleeping.
The CPP govt is leading by ah Hun Xen provide 40 meters wide and 60 meters long for a family with three to five children.When these children grow up what can they do? We lost Kampuchea Krom because of Vietnam intruder;now ah Viet is intruding everywhere in Cambodia.Khmer inside the country can not do anything.They live like a dead snake.Khmer abroad protest to support them when something bad happen in Cambodia,we went out to protest.
The hell!!!! Why rent land to viet to plant rice? They should do contract with Khmer farmers in their land to export rice, encouragement rice plant by Khmer not rent to viet. What a stupid concept!
