An interest group is a set of individuals who shares a common interest. The group consist of individuals who contribute to achieve a common goal. A social movement is a group of people who shares a common goal and to collect as many individuals as possible to make them more powerful. The population of these social movements are more critical in respect to the impact of their outcry. The similarities are that the group are all there to either fight and challenge a certain obstruction or to influence the publlic and the officials into making a change for the benefit of themselves and other free-riders. The most significant difference is their political power and ranking. Interest is their political ladder than social movements. Interest groups have the opportunity of inside game to get a more immense impact on their goals. Inside game allows for a larger influence on the officials where social movements rely on their population and leaders to create bigger voice for their group and beliefs.
Interest groups and social movements contribute positively to the democracy in America because their influence on the media. When the media captures the goals and the progress of these groups, they broadcast them. When they are broadcasted, the people and mainly the free-riders and informed leading to public influence. Another positive impact that they have the power to influence the government as well. Inside game and outside game are factors of one step of progress for many people social movements protest and build power by majority to give women their right to vote through "womens sufferage movement." As well as other movements such as human rights, civils right and many others.
One way that social movements undermine a part of America democracy are the riots that they instigate. Riots that get out of hand violates many laws and influences some freedom to be taken from us. They also convince the people that what they are trying to achieve may react to more violence. One way interest groups undermine democracy is majority tyranny. Interest groups that build power have direct influence on the media. Some groups will cause propaganda and therefore bias is created. Then as they broadcast, the public hears the good side of the story while they disadvantages are tucked away.
Shame on you,ah Hun Xen.You are not a Khmer hero;you are a viet shit. When ah Hun Xen dies,Khmer people will shit and pee on your grave. You are not also Jayavarman VII,don't compare yourself to him.I totally respect Aung San Suu Kyi.You are a bravest woman in the world.
Aung San is a real heroin, because she willing to go to jail for her believe. But Sam Rainsy is a real coward because he run away from his act of foolishness and let some poor and unfortunate people paid for his act.
