Myanmar's Suu Kyi urges 'freedom of speech'

YANGON Nov 14 (Reuters) - Myanmar pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi told thousands of cheering supporters on Sunday in her first major speech since being freed from house arrest that she understands "what they want".

"If we want to get what we want, we have to do it in the right way," she said, adding that the "basis of democratic freedom is freedom of speech."

She added that she had been listening to media broadcasts for up to six hours a day and "thought she knew what the people wanted to a certain extent".

The Nobel peace laureate had spent 15 of the past 21 years either under house arrest or in prison. She was speaking at the headquarters of her National League for Democracy party, where thousands had gathered.

Freedom of speech,freedom of gathering,freedom of press freely,all these khmer people need.Freedom of gathering in Cambodia is in a small park with two hundred people suroung by hundred polices and soldiers.The Khmer people inside Cambodia can not do freely without help from Khmer oversea support.Mr. Sam Rainsy met Ms. Aung San Suu Kyi once before.He talked,discussed friendly with her.The politician can do his/her work inside the country or outside the country without a doubt.Even ah Ho Chi Minh did from abroad.Mr. Taksin is doing politic outside Thailand.Mr. Gandhi,a famous Indian hero,was in South Africa to do politic before he came back to India and british govt put him in jail,then released Gandhi.
