Another gentle reminder to send in your krama photos…

Another gentle reminder to send in your krama photos… Here are some relatively new members of Kramanation

The very cool, world-acclaimed Cambodia’s very own cinematographer Rithy Panh wrapped up not only in his thoughts but in a classical krama, at his Bophana Center showing how it’s done (Phnom Penh, 2010).

Theary Seng with the beautiful Italian-Cambodian-American Sothea Saphan-Pirozzi (namesake of Ros Sereysothea) at her Greenwhich Village apartment styling in their kramas (Manhattan, 20 Nov. 2010). Her mother is the famous artist Cambodian-Canadian Linda Saphan and her father is the famous cinematographer John Pirozzi (Sleepwalking through the Mekong with Dengue Fever, City of Ghosts with Matt Dillon, Broken English with Parker Posey, documentaries of musicians such as U2, Yoko Ono, The Ramones etc., and the best of them all – Don’t Think I’ve Forgotten: Cambodia’s Lost Rock and Roll!).

Also, please help to look for EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR for Don’t Think I’ve Forgotten: Cambodia’s Lost Rock and Roll – a feature-length documentary which has distributors (including one from Tribeca Film Festival) raving.

The crew poses after interviewing Sieng Vanthy, former lead singer (and go-go girl pictured on the contact page) of the 70s super group SKD.

I am very proud of these compatriots who are in big favor to our Krama.
Look at the baby, isn't she gorgeous.
To my observation, I do see Hun Sen used Krama one in awhile, but do not see Hun Sen's children use Krama nor Bun Rany. They are very fond of showing their wealth, which they have been stealing from their people and nation. I can't wait to see them in Krama-clad when they go back to where they belong, once they loss the power.

Some regions in Cambodia called KRAMA and the other ones called
KANSEING.Two kinds of KRAMA: Krama soth(silk)and Amboss(cotton).
Khmer men and women use Krama. They Krama to wear as cloth, put around their necks, carry things;they use
different ways or styles.
KRAMA is well-worn Khmer custom.
