The new criminal code contains an interesting section (Section 3) stipulating about rape. One article in this section (Article 248) discussed about someone showing his/her private part. This article clearly stipulates that anyone showing his/her private part that someone else can see it, will be sentenced to 6 days to 3 months of jail term, and fined between 100,000 to 500,000 riels ($25 to $125). This law will be in use in the city in the Phnom Penh starting 11 Dec 2010. This means that those who like to pee or defecate outdoor, in public places, near lamp posts, near bushes along fences etc… will have to face this law. Furthermore, those who like to show off themselves to let others see their private part intentionally or unintentionally, and when they are caught doing so, they will also face this article of the law.

The poor people are starving and have nowhere to sleep,no money to buy food. I think this new law will affect the life of miserable people and they will end up in jail. Why do we hurt the poorest people who have no defense ?
