"Real Men Don't Buy Girls" Campaign

By Khmer Democrat, Phnom Penh
Let's Make an Ass of Asian-Men-Who-Can't-Get-it-on-with-Adult-Women-and-so-have-Sex-with-Children Series

Very cool Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore in launching this "Real Men Don't Buy Girls" campaign! Everyone has a role to play in speaking out against this modern slavery which destroys 27 Million young developing lives around the world, including here in Cambodia, one of the epicenters. We know about the foreigners... Let us focus on the Asian men, particularly the Khmer men, the majority of pedophiles in Cambodia, who abuse their own children.

Every grandma (khmers included) in the world, ugly and good looking, wants to be like Demi, to get a younger man. Unfortunately, most do not have G.I. Jane's hot look and bod....

They should have gone after her ex who slept with the young nannies!!!

Come on, Ashton, real men don't do aunties or grandmas...

Anonymous said...

They can't preach about prostitution, unless Demi is free for all men to do her...

Anonymous said...

If Demi had married Ashton before her menopausal time, she could almost be charged with statutory rape!!!

What a beautiful couple! Taking on a great cause!

The vulgar comments come from people with useless lives or is the campaign eating too close to your interests?

Anonymous said...

Cool down your hot flashes, madame. Were these comments eating too close to your fantasies???

Down with child exploitations and celebrity worshipping!

Anonymous said...

This couple is as beautiful as Woody Allen and Soon-Yi...

N'est-ce-pas, ma cherie? Come on, no double-starndards here.

It's great that celebrities are highlighting social problems around the world to draw our attention!

Theary, you need to also go after the government for failures to eradicate poverty and to create better job opportunities for these girls/women. To eradicate this problems, the government ust address both the morality and economic well beings of the population. Ancient or modern slavery are both the same in the fact that they both start with poverty.

And don't be biased, I want to see your statics on Khmer men vs. foreign pedophiles before tenaciously and unfairly starting your article with the blame on 'particularly the Khmer men' You are making baseless accusation and smear campaign by saying they are 'the majority pedophiles.'

It is more convincing if you came out with real studies and facts.

3:06, first of all, I think you are confusing who's who here.

Second, it's a basic knowledge; ask all the NGOs who work on trafficking and also read the most recent Newsweek article.

Also, poor Khmer children are being enslaved by rich and powerful men and WOMEN who are trapping these children to perform child labor inside their mansions and villas.

These children are being treated as slaves and kept deprived of parental love and education. Their future are being severely limited with indentured servitude, with absolute no hope of obtaining education and basic freedom.

It broke my heart to see these skinny little tiny girls washing, sweeping, cooking, cleaning, and serving the entire rich people families while these people's own children were being spoiled and afforded both public and private education. It was sad indeed. The same is with the stories of trafficked and abused children.

So, Ashton, and Theary, please see the whole problem, not just the sexy topic of the moment. It is not just about 'real men' chicken crap slogan, the traffickers are both men and women. Don't just say what your aunti Demi told you to say.

No Longer a Pedophile’s Haven

Anonymous said...

Among the 141 arrests for “debauchery” and “indecent acts” in Cambodia since 2003, only 37 of the suspects were Cambodian and just 19 were men from other Asian countries, according to APLE. And yet, Western men represent only a minuscule fraction of the population in Cambodia that is sexually exploiting children. According to a report released last month by the juvenile-protection NGO, ECPAT (End Child Prostitution, Abuse and Trafficking), the vast majority of former child sex workers say their clients were local men. It may not seem like much of a revelation given the disparity in numbers between Western and local men but, as ECPAT points out, the findings run contrary to “the usually held assumption that pedophilia is a Western problem.”

37 out of 141 does not make majority...

Anonymous said...

that did not even include the foreigners who got away and/or who bribed themselves out of arrests...

The article should just address the problem of child exploitations, trafficking, and slavery, period. What was its purpose to say Cambodians or weterners? Pedophiles are pedophiles.

Anonymous said...

"the vast majority of former child sex workers say their clients were local men."

That statement above cannot be a base to slant the local men. There is possibility that these 'former child sex workers' were adults when they became sex workers. Usually, these children were initially robbed of their innocence by foreign pedophiles before they became sex workers. Also, how many people were 'the vast majority of former child sex workers'???

The arrest numbers are somehow more scientific and reliable than an NGO "reported that the vast majority...said." And what is sadder, is Khmer Democrat ran with it to smear khmer men.

Credibility in general statement is critical here for Ashton who has not passed his real man in real life and relations with real woman yet.

Encore et Demi acts the whole time in relations with Ashton to convince him.

Not bad for a boy who plays with old doll.

The sexually excitement of the show either from movies or tv is one of the causes that encourages the men to have sex, and in order to have sex, the men have to buy a girl.

Anonymous said...

I think without the movies and TV programs, people still have sex and abuse sex. You think there were no abuses/rapes BEFORE tvs and films?

Anonymous said...

As a Khmer man (or not), I have SELF-RESPECT that is why I do not engage in sex with a child. Moreover, I have high respect for the female Khmer race, from whom I was born.

If you have problems with Newsweek Magazine or the many NGOs who work on these issues in stating these facts, take it on with them.

I'm glad this issue is being addressed on a big stage like CNN heroes.

Sorry to say this Ms. Moore, the real Khmer men can't be define beyond his head bellow. They don't event buy, they just use and abuse women and claim that they are doing all these for the benefit of the women themselves!

So can any bloggers defind a real men in Khmer culture? Please not the idealize one on TV show!

How can one tell when one meet the real Khmer man? What kind of charector/quality does he has?

Anonymous said...

7:59 PM,

Why slanting about khmer men instead of focusing just with just the problem at hand, wich is child prostitution and traficking?

The issue is also with you, with your irresponsible labeling and generalization that you added to the news article.

10:48 PM,

Real men in Cambodia are the ones who are working hard to feed their families and provide for their children the best to their abilities and circumstances.

Most REAL Khmer men do not have money to pay for sex, to traffic anyone. They do not have time or access to photo-op with any Hollywood big names. They are not quite sophisticated with western morality (hypocrasy, in some cases); they do not have the skills to justify their living by creating their own salaries by creating any NGO!!! They don't go to New York, LA, or Amsterdam to preach any morality to the western men...

Anonymous said...

10:48 PM,

Why did you have apologize to Demi? She is the one who defined true love with her and Ashton's heads-below!!!!

11:51 PM, you are blind to the Khmer society. A bit angry and a bit jealous in the tone as well.

If only what you say are true, Cambodia would not be this broken.

Anonymous said...

11:51, sounds like someone's jilted insecure ex-partner or just simply an angry, jealous person of anything good. Not to mention no sense of reality of Cambodia.

Anonymous said...

Many Khmer men are insecure, particularly with regards to western men. Also having sex with a child, besides a crime, is also another sign of insecurity and other emotional needs problems.

Anonymous said...

11:51 PM,

So the real Khmer men are living in poverty? The one that have money and Lexus are not real? Or all Khmer men without money, they are more faceful to their family because they don't have alternative! Once they have money and power, they are becoming spinless, and brainless and down head busy!

I notice that many Khmer songs are very romantic, they idealize true love, but in reality ... it is hard to find those around!

Where is the moral of marriage institution break down? Don't tell me that it is all KR fall, I saw those Lon Nel regime movie...where those general had a wife and still have many more women beside him! Or yet the living example of Change Song - where he is in nusing home right now! I'm wondering whether I should classify him as an intellectual Khmer man - na, I don't think so!

Anonymous said...

11:51,

are you blind? are you delusional? are you a jilted ex lover?

open your eyes to the shredded social fabric of society.

you mean Norid?

Those are the minority who own lexuses and buy and sell girls/women. This pretender Khmer Demo Rat is a wannabe - who worships everything western. The issue here, folks, is how this pretender nonsense guy/gal put down khmer men in general.

Don't blame all khmer men because a few khmer's Hugh Hefner or Clinton, Jessee Jackson, and john Edwards are behaving badly.

Anonymous said...

true love my ass, you mark these words: soon, these tabloids will say Ashton has found true love and finally grown up and left his aunti for someone his age.

What's the crap with 'open marriage?' It means even Ashton goes around and sleeps with younger women, Demi is okay as long as she still gets some from him...

I don't care about insecurity or crap, but I am passionate on putting hypocracy where it belongs - in the wannabe trash bin.

It's quite pathetic when somone thinks their role model and moral hero is someone like Ashton or Demi!
