SRP MPs will travel to the Kampong Thom provincial court on Tout Saron's case on December 15, 2010

December 14, 2010

SRP MPs will travel to the Kampong Thom provincial court on December 15, 2010 in order to monitor the implementation of the royal pardon decree for Mr. Tout Saron, a former commune chief from the SRP of Pong Ro commune, Baray district, Kampong Thom province.

Mr. Tout Saron was granted amnesty by the King Norodom Sihamoni on November 26, 2010. He, however, wasn't released because the court ordered him to pay a compensation of 2.500.000 riels.

It is also to inform that Mr. Tuot Saron is a former Pong Ro commune chief from SRP in Baray district, Kampong Thom province. He was arrested by the provincial authority on March 18, 2008 for illegal confinement charge and he was sentenced three years in jail by the Kompong Thom provincial court.
