Phnom Penh – As of Thursday 20 Jan 2011, Internet user with the EZECOM ISP can now access the KI-Media website in Cambodia again. This website is opposed to the government.
KI-Media insulted and criticized the national leaders nonstop, calling them “TRAITORS” in regards to the border issue between Cambodia and Vietnam. The website was blocked since 18 January 2011, along with the entire blogspot.com domain.
EZECOM employees declared that officials from the Ministry of Interior (MoI) ordered it to block Internet users from accessing this website. The order was issued in the afternoon of 18 jan 2011.
EZECOM employees indicated the MoI told it to block all websites hosted on blogspot.com, including the KI-Media website.
Nevertheless, on 19 Jan 2011, MoI spokesman, as well as the minister of Information and the minister of Post and Telecommunication denied that the government has a plan to block the KI-Media website from Cambodia.
