The defence plans to seek the intervention of the Office of Untied Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to release two Thais convicted for illegal entry and spying in Phnom Penh, lawyer Natthaporn Toprayoon said on Wednesday.
The trial and verdict for Veera Somkwamkid and Ratree Pipapatanapaiboon were unjust," he said, explaining why the defence wants to involve the OHCHR.
Natthaporn said the petition will be submitted to the OHCHR next week.
He said the defence will take a two-tracked strategy - involving the OHCHR and appealing to overturn the verdict and sentencing.
In regard its next step in the litigation, the defence was waiting to obtain the official copy of the verdict before filing for a bail review and launching the appellate review.
Last week, the Phnom Penh Court of First Instance found Veera and Ratree guilty and sentenced them to serve eight and six years in jail respectively.

This issue should only be dealt with bilaterally (between Cambodia and Thailand).
This guy should be dressed up in yellow in jail. That's why he is so angry which is good to see. Make him work for Cambodian as a laborer for a dollar a day.
Keep them in Jail. They ( Veera and his secretary) are trouble makers. These two denied they were not inside Cambodia. The other five admitted that they were inside Cambodia. They were released from Jail and returned to Thai.

The Office of Untied Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has NO legal steps to interfere in such a case. Thais leaders are desperate to get help for the Thai wrong doers in Cambodia.
Friendliness, courtesy and consideration would have been much helpful to their fellow citizens. But even this one guy, the yellow shit leader, who is now in prison in Cambodia has been foolishly and courageously RUDE. Just look at the picture one can hear his rude voice with so much arrogence. That is a pure STUPIDITY. Add twenty five more years to the original sentence.

Love to see this guy serve his jail term to the fullest and without any outside food. He has to do everything according to jail regulation for 8 years in Prey Sor. We do not want to hear anything from him during his serving time. Though, want to hear what he will say after he serves!

Why preah vihear temple has its entrance from Thailand becoz the area formerly was part of Khmer land before the siem thieves who rebelled from Khmer empire.

As Khmer love peace and reality could I share you some points:
a) Your country right now has the internal conflict betwen red & yellow people, this problem will be serious from day by day and it inpact to economy. In order to attract your supporters, Thai politicians use the Prah Vihear as "crunchpoint" because this is a sharps knife as part of foreign policy. But have forgotten what your country had treaty with France as Khmer protectorate in the past.

2)We are accepting the Hun Sen Govt is hidding on the border with Vietnam (east border) and only use the border treaty with Vietnam after 1979. Vietnam take a lot of Khmer land under Hun Sen Govt. that is why Thailand is envious ? We both Khmer and Thai people are Buddhism and had a bad and good history in the past, Could we both now live in peace each other like Buddha teached US ??

You appear to have hated Hun Sen because he limits the freedom of expression and has done many other things that can be considered bad. However, you can be a worse person than Hun Sen when you are in power as you have not even got any power yet, but the way you talk on this forum, I can say you would shoot anyone to death if you could when he/she calls Mr. Hun Sen by the his title of Samdach.

This is the flip flop that the Thai always use. For this case Thai want the intervention from the United Nations, but when it comes to the border dispute and Preah Vihear temple they stand firm on bilateral talks without ouside intervention, not even from the Office of the United Nations. Why?
