ALGIERS (Reuters) - Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi will fight attempts to unseat him until "the last man standing," one of his sons said on Sunday after days of protests reached the capital.

At least 233 people have now been killed since unrest started last week, Human Rights Watch said, making Libya's uprising one of the bloodiest to have erupted in the Arab world over the past two months.

IS GADDAFI BLUFFING?

No. Gaddafi's security forces really could fight until the last man is standing because they know that if their boss falls, they too must fear for their lives.

This is the crucial difference between Libya and its neighbors Egypt and Tunisia.

In those countries, entrenched leaders were toppled because the military decided it was not prepared to fire on civilians to preserve the power of the head of state. That was possible because the military in Tunisia and Egypt preserved a degree of autonomy from the president. They existed as institutions in their own right and retained some public credibility.

In Libya, the military does not exist in the conventional sense of the word: it is more a personal militia for Gaddafi. An illustration of this is the fact that another of his sons, Mutassim, is national security advisor. A third, Khamis, is a senior military commander while a fourth, Saadi, holds high military rank.

The security forces know that without Gaddafi in power, they will fall too. They will therefore fight to defend their status and their lives.

WASN'T THIS SUPPOSED TO BE A LOCAL ISSUE?

Until Sunday evening, the challenge to Gaddafi's power was confined to the eastern Cyrenaica region around the city of Benghazi. That, for him, was manageable because the region had traditionally been ambivalent toward him. As long as it did not spread to the center and west of the country, analysts said there was no real challenge to his grip on power.

Those calculations are now being torn up. Anti-government protesters late on Sunday were in the streets of Tripoli throwing stones at the ubiquitous billboards of Gaddafi and shouting "Allahu Akbar," or "God is great." A resident who lives not far from the central Green Square, said he could hear gunfire. The fact that the violence has jumped 1,000 km (600 miles) west from Benghazi to Tripoli means that Gaddafi is now in a real fight to hold onto power.

WILL HE BOW TO INTERNATIONAL PRESSURE?

Foreign governments, which had been slow to condemn the violence in Libya, are now beginning to speak out. Britain called the killings of civilians "horrifying" and top U.S. diplomats have said there is no place for violence against protesters. Yet even if international anger builds into sanctions, Gaddafi is not likely to be alarmed. He has been there before. His country was under U.S. and European sanctions for decades over its banned weapons programmes and support for foreign militant groups.

It is true that since sanctions were lifted in 2004, many Libyans have started to enjoy the fruits of capitalism. Tripoli is teeming with shops selling mobile phones, exercise bicycles and showy imported cars. Also since then, foreign oil companies including BP, ENI and Exxon Mobil have invested billions in the Libyan oil sector.

However, Gaddafi derived much of his legitimacy and popularity at home from being seen as the scourge of the West, and may even benefit from having that status returned to him. And many people doubt the oil companies would leave because Libya's reserves of crude are too valuable to give up.

Why do Kos Trol, sea and lands proximately over 10 000 km2 have been lost to Vietnam by who treaty? Why don’t Cambodia goverment transparencies explain to Cambodia army at front line and the whole nation about this? Why don't they include this into education system? Why?

Cambodian armies are fighting at front line for 4.6 km2 and what's about over 10 000km2 of Cambodia to Vietnam. Nobody dare to talk about it! Why? Cambodian armies you are decide the fate of your nation, Cambodian army as well as Cambodian people must rethink about this again and again. Is it fair?

Kos Trol, Sea and lands over 10 000km2 have been lost to Vietnam by who treaty at 1979 to 1985 treaty! Treaty! Cambodian army at front line as well as all Cambodian people must rethink again about these issues. Are Cambodian army fighting to protect the Cambodia Nation or protect a very small group that own big lands, big properties or only protecting a small group rather in the real name of protecting Khmer nation?

Cambodian army at front line suffer under rain, wind, bullets, bombs, lack of foods, lack of nutrition, their families have no health care help, no securities after they die but a very small group eat well, sleep well, sleep in first class hotel with air conditioning with young girls message, have super health care from oversea medical treatment, they are billionaires, millionaires who sell out the country to be rich and make Cambodian people suffer everyday as Cambodian people know already.

Who signed the treaty 1979-1985 that result lost over 10 000 km2 of Cambodia??? Why don't they transparency inform all Cambodian and Cambodian army at front line about these issues? Why don't include Kos Trol (Kos Trol size is bigger than the whole Phom Phen and bigger than Singapoor with heap of great natural resources) in education system in Cambodia.

Look at Hun Sen families, relatives; friends are billionaires, millionaires where do they get the money from if we all just get out of war with empty hands? Hun Sen always say in his speech Cambodia just get up from war, just get up from Zero with empty hands and how come they are billionaires, millionaires but 90% innocent Cambodian people are so poor struggling with living every day.

Smart Khmer girl Ms. Rattana Keo,

This war is to wipe out Hun Sen 's regime plus families, relatives and friends of Hun Sen because they are making 90% cambodians so suffer every day.

Hun Sen and his families, his relatives, his friends murdered a lot of cambodian people such as K5, 1997 and so on with lost count.

Libya free yourselves from autocracy. It will not be easy as the autocratic government is ruthless even against unarmed peaceful protesters.
The global cabal have ignited their plan to restructure the mideast, the price of oil is going up and the mideast is getting a face lift. Whatever the "leaders" say, believe the opposite. They are only there to deceive us.

The United States could offer limited sanctuary to Gadaffi while he arranges more permanent asylum. This would be merciful, not to him, but to the country. Providing a quick extraction out of a country for tyrants would save lives and might spur more necessary political transitions. This would seem the enlightened approach.

Khmer people should learn from Libya,Libyans got out to protest small amount of people.
Khmer people must go out to the streets at least few million people, not a quite few thousands.
If Khmer people would wake up,stand up,and rise up,Khmer people will be dead, not just race,
but will lose the whole country.
The Vietnam has been swallowed Champa,Khmer Krom, and Lao,but Cambodia still has some good air to breath.
Now Hun Sen and Vietnam try hard
to swallow Khmer alive, they do some tricks to kill Khmer like in
Koh Pich bridge and chase people out and starve to death, become or sick.
Bring them down as fast as We can.
So, now the wave wind of change is coming .
So,Wake up!Stand up! and Rise up!
Dare to die we can survive.

Neither Britain nor the U.S. can make Gaddafi give up. Men of power want to stay in power anywhere in the world. It is sad but Gaddafi is going to hold onto his power at the cost of his own people.
