As many as 87.4 per cent of the respondents said Thai soldiers had acted appropriately to protect the country’s sovereignty during the recent border clashes, Abac Poll reported on Sunday.
An opinion poll on Thai-Cambodian border dispute, conducted from Feb 7 to 12, involved 2,971 people in 17 provinces.
A total of 92.7 per cent of the respondents were worried about safety of soldiers and state authorities on duty in border areas, 78.2 per cent of them were concerned about safety of people living in border areas and their assets, Abac Poll said.
Some 51.6 per cent said the border clashes would damage the country’s image in the international community, according to the pollsters.
Asked about ways to settle the border conflict, 54.7 per cent of the respondents said a bilateral talk between Thailand and Cambodia, 17.3 per cent of them said negotiation via the United Nations Organisation or any impartial country, 5.0 per cent said war.
On the question about the confidence in the government’s ability to settle the dispute, 41.3 per cent said they had high confidence, 30.7 per cent had moderate confidence, and 28 per cent had less confidence and did not have any confidence at all.

LOL,the poll should be included the 5 soldiers captured by Cambodian army must put them together in one pit instead of sending them to Phnom Penh and released. It's wasting time,fuel and millitary personels escort them.Now the Dap news said 50 Thai thieves army has been killed at the front line and 1000 included the wounds were hit by cambodian rocket. The poll agency must check this information and showing the true to the Thai Thief nation.

If Khmer do the poll, it will be 150% that Thai invaded Cambodia.
Huh! Thai know that Prea Vichear belonged to Khmer yet they have used and abused their power to get what they want...it is listed as world international heritage belong to khmer, it is appointed by an international law. It is not agame for Thai to play with in general.
They need to take it seriously in making sure that it is being respected. By doing so, it is for the dignity of individual being, Peace and harmony for all.
That is why we have an international law. It is for the protection and security for all. What the Thai did to Khmer people is un-acceptable.
From now we want the Thai to compansate on the damages that they have done to both our people, the temple and the time of suffering which they have inflicted.
Thai has bridged the international law and this need to be dealt with accordingly.

*Khmer Issarak civil war against French colony.
*Khmer Vietminh(took side with Vietcong).
*Pol Pot civil(Sihanouk was Khmer Rouge leader)
against Lon Nol regime( back with USA)
*Khmer Vietminh or Vietcong(Heng Samrin and Chea Sim) and Hun Sen(Khmer Rouge back with Vietnam).
Were/are Khmer soldier strong fighters?
At Preah Vihear Temple fight zone,
Thai or Khmer was weak?
Which side damaged the most said the truth?
Each side,maybe,hidden their damages.
I won't be surprised even its 100 % because Thailand has been lying to its people about the problem along Khmer-Thai border.
