Thailand’s Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva intends no ceasefire talks with Cambodia.
“It’s not us who started this conflict, and it’s not us who must stop it,” he said in an interview to The Bangkok Press newspaper.
The armed conflict between Cambodia and Thailand was caused by a dispute over a piece of land where an ancient Hindu temple Preah Vihear stands.
12 people have already been killed in fire exchanges.
On Thursday, Cambodia suggested signing a peace deal, with ASEAN as mediators. Thailand, however, insists on direct talks.

Thai under Abitshit has no intention of peace deal over the land because they know they are going to loose, the insistent on having direct talk will give them a better deal and prolong the issue longer this is their aim.
The new ASEAN-II can be created for Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Mynamar, East Timore if the old ASEAN not happy with the new members.
Create this new members just to piss Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippine off. I bet they will not going to happy with this.
I'd suggest this to happen see how they like that.

You got to remember that the three countries that signed deal together were Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. These countries are looking after each others back. Thai could bring its country to be broken into peaces just like former Yugoslavia.

I am wondering what would happen if Hun Sen ask the surrounding country like Burma, Laos, and Malaysia for a helping hand like the above comment. As we all know that Siem always been having problems with these three countries in the past. For those Muslim in the Southern Thailand, they are already at war with Siem. In regarding to Laos, Siem took a large portion of their territories on the Isan area. Just like other neighboring countries, Burma had several conflict with Siem too. That would sound too good to be true if that would to happen.

Well, after blaming Cambodia for everything else since they sent their troops onto Khmer territory in 2008, the Thais cannot now accuse Cambodia of not wanting the permanent ceasefire!
All Cambodia can now do is expose this Thai two-facedness and lack of grace on the world stage and let the fair world judge for itself who really has been 'the bad boy next door' all along.
If another round of fighting breaks out, Cambodia must again send the ball to the UN Security Council and see whether the UN can afford to pass the ball to Asean again without making itself look silly. In fact, by refusing to accept this offer of ceasefire from Cambodia, Bangkok is saying as much about its lack of faith in Asean as a regional mediator or referee in this dispute; a forum of which it is a founding member, and in this sense at least Bangkok is exposing its double standard and hypocrisy before the world.
