Thailand Supports UNESCO's Inspection Of Preah Vihear Temple

BANGKOK, Feb 9 (Bernama) -- Thai Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban said Wednesday that he supports the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to inspect the Preah Vihear Temple along the Thai-Cambodian border, Thai News Agency (TNA) reported.

In response to the UNESCO's proposal to inspect the Preah Vihear Temple in the wake of a series of crossfire between Thai-and Cambodian border troops--which erupted last Friday, Suthep, who oversees national security, acknowledged that it is good for the UN organisation to find out the truth.

Asked if Thailand should be careful of Cambodia's movements in any forum after the United Nations has rejected Phnom Penh's request for it to be a mediator to settle border rows between Thailand and Cambodia, the Thai deputy premier said Thailand, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has already made it clear that Thai-Cambodian border clashes have not justified any intervention by a third party, namely the UN or the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean), as both concerned countries should seek a way out by themselves and he considers the Thai-Cambodian border issues remain negotiable.

In response to the Thai Defence Ministry's call for Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva to phone his Cambodian counterpart Hun Sen, the Thai deputy prime minister said that it should not be the right time to do so, noting that, to uphold national honor and dignity, everything is to follow proper procedures.

Meanwhile, Thai Defence Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan said that he believes the Thai military can handle the situation along the Thai-Cambodian border, and that Thailand has not planned any retaliation against Cambodia and the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs is arranging bilateral talks between Thai and Cambodian authorities concerned.

The Thai defence minister was speaking to reporters before visiting border areas near the Preah Vihear Temple in Thailand's northeastern Si Sa Ket Province with Thai Army Chief General Prayuth Chan-ocha earlier Wednesday.

The best idea of Thais want to invade Cambodia because Thai-Cambodia has real line border depends on the Siam-France Agreement which was used for International court.
I hope the world will push Thai to agree what Thai has as international Agreements.
If The world cannot do that I think the invasion war would be appeared around the world.

Let's see how it works for Thai diplomacy. The deputy prime minister said he welcome the inspection from Unesco but at the same time sending a diplomat to Paris to block the visit.

The problem is slightly different, as formulated until now. The French never agreed to use the Dangrek mountains as a whole (as it is) as watershed, they agreed to use the watersheds on the Dangrek mountains, in fact alongside the whole border.
They did this an the basis of a joint agreement with the Thais.
The agreement was that the frontier should be exactly halfway between the sources alongside the southern frontier between Siam and Indochina, also on on the Dangrek mountains, between creeks flowing to the south and creeks flowing to the north.

The problem was that it took them a long time to map those watersheds on the Dangrek. The mountains were very inaccessible and heavily forested and they had to use triangulation. They forst map of the PV area is from 1953.

They French did exactly what they were supposed to do. The outcome was a zigzag frontier. If you look at the French map of 1953 of the region around PV(which I have), you will see that the frontier is precisely where it is supposed to be, halfway he creek. That is why the frontier between Thailand and Cambodia is at the beginning of the staircase of the PV temple is in Cambodia, and the north.

A better readable and corrected version.

This short message is to Thailand, the former Khmer land:

Thailand, the stolen land, can sometimes deceive and lie to public, their countrymen, friends and allies.

But God has eyes and cannot be deceived nor lied to. Thailand and its supporters will fall face down with Thais laying tongue. And all will be in shame and pain.

Many allies will then desert their lying, deceitful friends with shame. And they will turn to praise the Khmers but the Khmers don't want them either.

Shame and disasters, natural and manmade, will grip Thailand and its supporters.

God bless Cambodia.

The Preah Vihear Temple was a place where the Khmer kings, lower kings, and Khmer people all over of Khmer empire
gathering here to worship Brahman God,and Khmer empire pride.
Thai demolished Preah Vihear like Thai wiped out all Khmer souls or Khmer spirits.
Khmer all parts of the world, inside or outside, and in Southeast Asia must
stand up,rise up against any races that put down Khmer people and destroyed Khmer properties.
