UNESCO Director- General Irina Bokova expressed her deep concern at the sudden escalation of tensions between Cambodia and Thailand on the issue of the Temple of Preah Vihear, inscribed on the World Heritage List.
Reports indicate that troops on either side have exchanged fire resulting in the loss of life and also some damage to the temple.
The Director-General expresses her distress at this sudden turn of events and calls upon both sides to exercise restraint for the sake of the preservation of the Temple of Preah Vihear and open direct channels of communication at the highest levels to defuse the tension.

They are unfaithful people for us to trust.

The Thai dogs does not give a hoot about Preah Vihear.
The Thai military don't even care about their people when they mowed down protesters last year in May with 96 people died.
In Thailand, you have the military, the King, the Yellow, the Red, and a whole bunch of others competing for power.
The country's politic is spiraling out of control.
4.6 km is khmer land and is being recognised as world heritage, so shame on Thai people. They have no morality. They know that khmer suffered soooo much already but still they have no mercy for anyone. They abused loas, Burma, khmers, viets and chinese when we crossed their border. So, come on all asian nations let attack the Thai people as they are the traitors. They are being back by the west and so enough is enough....let teach them a lesson. But please don't kill the innocent women and children, just kill their armies and their leaders for good.

Where is the World Court? Shouldn't this institution come out to say something about their ruling? After all it is the source of all problem.
I also worry about the temple fate. It should be renovated, but not destroyed this way.

If Khmer manage world heritage place like "Jea Dara" said: "We have special place to keep our weapon and fight with Thai invader.
The temple is not in a position to defend herself from the Thai's guns. Why are they pointing at the temple??? Why are they destroying the temple just because they cannot own her? This is a very cheap shot of a country claiming themselves better than Cambodia. Cambodia is in no way the aggressor. We just wanted to left alone and not bullied by the Thai bullshit from their domestic politics.

If we talk about deplomacy level. Fucking Thai was lost and continuce will lose again because Cambodia is eligible right and international law. Internaltional court approved Preh Vihear belong to Cambodai in 1962. Fucking Thai has no way to win Cambodia. Thus, Fucking Thai use military force against Cambodia. Unfortunately, poor Preah Vihear was demaged by fucking Thai against war law. UNESCO must be kept this temple alive and conservation as usual and have to comdernm crazy thai to stop fighting on my poor temple because I love property so much.
Satuu Satuu. I used to visit Preah Vihear many time. I used to see perment setting canon and military balker at Preah Vihear Wall. Ugly to tell a lie for the Budhism.
I have question for the khmer leader military. Why you focus to destroy village of innocence people? and Why you focus to destroy School in Phum Srol and Dol Awo village?
I think US is the real devil for this crisis. They just play power with the leader who are political power drunker!!! The assistant US millitary just visit Preah Vihear before Thai and Khmer fighting.
