About the Author
Gaffar Peang-Meth, of Russey-keo, Kandal, Cambodia, holds a BA degree in Political Science from Hiram College, an MA from Georgetown University, and a PhD from the University of Michigan. He was press attaché at the Embassy of the Khmer Republic in Washington, DC, 1973–1975; initiated resettlement of Khmer refugees; helped institute resistance support committees; and joined the Khmer People’s National Liberation Front in the field from 1980 to 1989. He taught at Johns Hopkins University in 1990; at the University of Guam from 1991 to 2004. He writes columns for the Pacific Daily News and the Asian Human Rights Commission.

Sovathana Sokhom, of Kompong Charm, Cambodia, holds BA degrees in Political Science and Economics from St. Olaf College, MBA International Trade from Texas A&M International University, MA International Political Economy from Claremont Graduate University, and is a PhD candidate in Politics and Economics at Claremont Graduate University. She taught at the Faculty of Business in Phnom Penh, 1994–1996, and was funded by international organizations as an advisor to the secretary-general of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Phnom Penh, 1996–2000. When a French hight school boy became King That when Foreing education are so supperior to Khmer education and literature!

Now I'm waiting to see Cambodians with Ph.D in the field of physics, nuclear science etc.
Hopefully there will soon be Cambodian branch out of the field of politics.
There'r you need to leurn from other, there'r you already have it and better than other!
Some you need not to leurn to do evil!
Think people! PhD just title don't let it fool you they are supper brain!

Do you know the different between PhD made in US and PhD made in Vietnam? The PhD that made in Vietname is that the one that made in Vietname is lack of humility, more attitude than gratitude! And if you happen to pick up this book, you might be able to learn about humility, and gratitude.
You should be able to learn goodness in others!
PhD is not Equal to H.E. and Samdech in Cambodia etc

You are right, I agreed with you on that. PhD people are not supper brain. They are just normal people like you and me. The different is that they just put a lot of their time to learn the art of their craft!
I believe that everybody can be a PhD or anything that they want to be...it just takes time, dedication and commitment to see one's decision toward the end!
Khmers are very brilliant and smart, KHmers are not dum. There lot more of Khmer who live abroad and in the Cambodia aquired PhD doctorate degree and more.

I agreed with you, but real PhD in Cambodia have to play dum in order to servive. If they dare to speak their truth and say what is right and what is wrong, they will be end up like Dr. Loa Mong Hay - he cannot get back in Cambodia, Or worst, if one in side Cambodi, s/he will get into traffic accident!
