The Cambodian Prime Minister, Hun Sen, has approved a 9,000 hectare (22,200 acre) rubber plantation in Virachey National Park despite its status as a protected area, reports the Phnom Penh Post. The park is also listed as an ASEAN Heritage Park.
Spanning 332,500 hectares in Ratanakkiri province, Virachey National Park, is Cambodia's largest.
The concession to clearcut the forest and establish a rubber plantation was awarded to Srun Sovannaphoum Investment Co Ltd.
"It is good because that area is uninhabited, so when the company comes to invest they will also construct a road,” Ratanakkiri provincial governor Pav Hamphan told the Phnom Penh Post. Villagers in another region of Cambodia are protesting the loss of their forest, known as Prey Lang, to rubber plantations.
“Cutting some part of Virachey National Park may not affect villagers, but it seriously affects the forest and this province will lose even more forest land,” Pen Bonnar, coordinator for local rights group Adhoc, told the Phnom Penh Post
The World Bank has invested $5 million into managing Virachey National Park, which has suffered from illegal logging.
The rubber plantation concession is not the first time Cambodia has handed parts of the park over to private industry. In 2007 the government granted Australian gold-mining company, Indochine Mining, rights to exploratory mining in half the park.
The wildlife of Virachey National Park have been little studied, but a Rapid Assessment Survey (RAP) in 2007 found evidence of healthy populations of dholes—listed as Endangered by the IUCN Red List—inhabiting the park, in addition to gaurs, yellow-cheeked gibbons, stump-tailed macaques, Asiatic black bears, Malayan sun bears, and Asian small-clawed otters. The short survey also found a number of species that may be unknown to science.

All of Cambodia is for sale according to Hun Sen. Pretty soon Hun Sen will allow Thai and Vietnamese companies to build shopping malls right beside Angkor Wat and eventually you will see a mobile phone antenna tower on top of Angkor Wat itself.
There is a big difference between having international companies invest in your country and in the long run invest in the infrastructures of the country and develop the ingenuity of that country's people.
...As oppose to conceding lands to other countries for possession of 100 years contract where that country can do anything they want. And as a result, Khmers on those lands are kicked out.
Hun Sen allows the latter. He allows countries like Vietnam to colonize bits and portions of Cambodia. As a result, these Vietnamese companies import Vietnamese laborers into Cambodia to work the land and settle there.
When you have a prime minister who never been to school, does not understand the foundation of one' s nation, keeps thinking that he is smart and brilliant when he is destroying his own country inside out.
Hun Sen is exactly like the stupid Pol Pot who was killing his country and the people except that hun sen doing it the slow way.

Both of you don't say like that. CPP members said that they need Hun Sen to be a Prime Minister of Cambodia for 15 more years to lead country, at least. They say Hun Sen is the smartest leaders ever.
Do you know he has a lot of doctor degrees without go to school so I ask both of you, who can do like him? But I think Hun Sen is smart next to Pol Pot and later on the result is the same as Pol Pot regime. I hope their barking dogs will come soon.
Hun Sen needs to work with Madam Mu for the benefit of our nation and country. If not Hun Sen will lose it all in the end. Men have always been dominated on women for thousand of years and it is time to reflect back to what went wrong and what changes should be made for the future outcome. Khmer men have been known as agressive and no knowledge of morality in term of right and just.
e.g it is ok for men to sleep with many women as they like but for women it is forbiden to do so. why can't they respect the law where one man with one woman and made it forbiden for men in general also. Well, because we have no moral policy to protect individuals from the start.
They have used and abused their power by saying that "I am big and you are small, I am right and you are wrong and there is nothing nothing you can do about it".
They totally forgot about the wisdom of life, that is do the right thing for the righteous will live forever and the wicked will be terminated. The right things are these principles of 'treat others like you want to be treated or love others like you want to be loved'.
Unfortunately, all khmer leaders have been blinded by evil acts like they are more concerned about their flesh and blood rather than their eternal life where they can live forever and ever. Again and again leaders thought to themselves that they can get away from any injustice that they have committed.
But no, God made it very clear that no one in this world can get away from any crime that they have committed 'God knows every move you make whether it is good or bad' bible. So, be aware guys, please help your soul before it is too late. 'everything you do, you do it to yourself' be kind always.
All people must find ways to work together as a team for the benefit of our nation and country and to do that is come down to common goal and comment interest, fight and protect our nation and country. No outsiders should involve in the development of our nation accept educated people. why? because the world is all about compare and compete, so be aware... Every nations on this planet have pride of their own country, people and culture except Cambodian under hun Sen regime.
He allows his country and its people to be raped by the foreigners (especially Yuorn) as much as they please.
We must initiate the movement now. HS is getting out of control with his power. He must be stopped and the people have the right to do so "internal & external". Come on people, wake up and take down HS now to save our country from deforestation and destruction of our natural nature. The people still living off the nature, so we must not allow HS to sign any more contracts to deforest our forest...

Since 1978, Hun Sen allowed himself to be in a position like that of a prostitute who owes itself to its mama-san (Vietnam). And Cambodia has turned into the brothel that mama-san Vietnam owns and operates.

Therefore the love of money is the root of all evil. Not money itself. Money is neutral. It does not have a mind of it own but the one in possession of it. Money is power. It has the power to destroy or to bless and build up humanity for the good of everyone.
So far been having the power to destroy the under dogs of society. There are exceptions mind you.
I think Hun Sen should be repatriated from Cambodia and back to Vietnam. Hun Sen isn't Cambodian. I don't consider him to be one. Hun Sen is more Vietnamese than Ho Chi Minh himself. Ho Chi Minh killed his own Vietnamese people. Hun Sen loves Vietnamese people and would never do any harm to any one of them. Hun Sen is an uncanny Vietnamese patriot and successful "nam tien" hero.

One of KI-Media member who has his name in Facebook as Khmer Sovannaphumi but his real name is Pang Sokhoeun, former political asylum and now living in Sweden. He always copies news from here to post in his facebook profile to promote himself, but right now, he tries to remove and blocked anyone who dares to reveal his con activity particular he tries to hide what he has cheated his wife (Sreypov Chea) by having a girlfriend (Sokunthear Sam) behind his wife back. Now, his girlfriend had run way from him after she knew his cheating.
A con man Pang Sokhoeun as well as KI-Media like to insult to the government officers who have affairs, but himself does even worse than other people. What a shame!
When one person had posted in KI-Media and accused that a con man Pang Sokhoeun is a brother of Som Ek (former Chief of Tiger's head sign guerilla, who was arrested and put in prison by Cambodian government) during that time, a cheater Pang Sokhoeun came to deny in his blogs immediately and had pointed the blame to Mr. Sourn Serey Rotha, but this time, he has bury his head in the sand because he cannot deny the truth that he has cheated his wife. Right now, all he can do is removed and blocked anyone who dared to reveal his cheating.
