Why does KI Media allows itself to be used as Theary Seng's personal photo diary?
The answer is simple, if you have something interesting to share with others, please send them over to us and we will gladly post them for you. But, please no nude pictures.
It show that one of KI members is Theary Seng. Cambodian Government should put her on a black list and get rid of her for good.
We wouldn’t mind having Ms. Theary Seng as part of our team, however, we have never approached her to do so, as far as we know. On the other hand, this reader's tactic of using the government to repress (blacklisting, eliminating) others is quite scary. Did this reader forget that the Pol Pot regime is already over?

The sheer amount of information related to her person, rather than any significant news or analysis and the large number of promotional photos do suggest that someone approached someone.
But no-one should be blacklisted or eliminated.

KI is quite receptive. Just send an article, a comment, or share events in your community. That has been going on for a long time now, have just noticed that?
It just happens that some people make uses of this and realized its benefits more than others.

KI-Media does a great job in publishing a wide range of materials including not only news but poems, cartoons, academic pieces and so on. This is fantastic.
I also think that KI-Media is doing the right thing in encouraging comments and discussions. It is regretable but unavoidable that profane comments are posted. Many comments make good points and generally, the quality is getting better.
As for the topic at hand, I have been wondering why Theary's welcome remarks at a workshop was posted in three versions across the first page, even though there was no news and no analysis.
Some readers made critical comments and in response, the following was published as a blog post:

Graduated from Georgetown University where her classmates were the Prince of Spain (next in line to being the King) and other political/social elites from Europe, the Middle East and the US East Coast. Juris Doctor from University of Michigan Law School, ranked always in the top 10 law schools, 4th when she attended; probably the first Cambodian-American to pass the New York bar exam, where she simply goes by Ms. rather than the amusing Dr. title which everyone throws around with his/her name."
I wonder what was "interesting to share with others" about this. More importantly, it seemed arbitrary of KI-Media to privilege the voice of one individual in this way. What was so interesting about this comment that it justified publishing it as a post?
If KI-Media is going to judge any one comment at this level of significane interesting enough to be published as a post than it will become impossible to find anyting meaningful, leave alone sensitive.
The people behind KI-Media take great risk are doing Cambodia a historic favor by doing what they do. KI-Media is a Khmer hero no less than any one of the heros on the right hand side.
On the other hand, there are people who do not risk anything but feel no shame having their promotional photos posted on KI-Media dozens of times without any apparent contribution to Cambodia.
I feel that this kind of people disrespects our Khmer heros.
Exactly. Its KI-Media taking the risk and making the contribution. It is because the contribution is so big that it is so risky and therefore KI-Media people cannot post their names and photos. They forgo personal promotion for the sake of promoting Cambodia.
Other people who take no risk and make little contribution use the generosity of KI-Media to promote their own names and faces, trying to take the credit from those who take the real risks and make the good things happen.

This is a great blog site but man it also shows how many arrogant and lack of intelligent Khmer people are. No offense to the other Khmer peeps but the truth hurts and this is one of it.
The news that KI Media put forth for everyone to read and yet we have no unity among us to rally against those oppressing our people. We are similar to Black Americans. Many black folks here in America and yet the biggest donor that help out the african people in Africa is Bill Gates foundation.
This is just sad and embarrassing how we can take advantage of our own people and the lack of compassion towards other human beings. My heart goes out to my Khmer people who are suffering back home. We are starting a movement here to pressure the Americans to help put a stop to the CPP.
We are not politically align to any party but only to our people.

It is obvious that KI Media = SRP Media.
I remember vaguely that KI Media posted some pictures here or there depicting their place of work (e.g. straw hut somewhere in the middle of Cambodia if memory serves me correctly). Don't fool anyone. All of you... Socheat, Heng Soy.... are foreigners. You guys are either Khmer descendants/ citizens residing in foreign countries or Cambodia citizen living abroad. Either way, don't hide the fact that you are all aligned with the Opposition party. You all are trying to distort the truth about the government and Cambodia with the sole aim of discrediting the entire collective actions of the government as being either uselss or corrupt or simply dumb.
You have not found anything useful or constructive to say about the government. Sure no one is perfect and that includes Hun Sen and his regime. It is in fact far from perfect. But I don't think Scam Rainsy is anywhere as good as Hun Sen. Scam Rainsy has the theory, but no the experience nor the connection to lead Cambodia to a better place. In fact, Scam Rainsy does not even have the team to help him if he were to be PM.
Now would you want the return to a struggle for power and the chaotic consequences by installing Scam Rainsy? Or would you want stability and peace and development that Cambodians enjoy under Hun Sen? Can you guarantee that Scam Rainsy will not be corrupt? Can you guarantee that Scam Rainsy will have better people working for him who have years of experience?
Life under Hun Sen can be better no doubt, but one thing for sure, it is a hell lot worse under Scam Rainsy, or his prostitute copycat, Kem Sucker, from HRP.

As far as I have observed, there are few positive comments on the personal photos shared by theary. This should say something. as much as it wants the government to listen to the opposition voice, KI should take these criticism into consideration too. Not that I have any personal grudge against her. Of course I have always respected her work and contribution to cambodia. But I feel the recent personal photos sharing is just too much and not necessary for Ki readers. With best regards

Penh Panha is delusional, as in believing and perceiving reality totality from what it is. It is not that he is being disingenuous, but that he actually believes in his own fantasy that the rule of Mr. Hun Sen brings about "peace and stability" as well as "development" for the people. Of course the very same thing could also be said for Mr. Hosni Mubarak of Egypt and the current embattled Gadaffi of Libya, they all believed in their own grandeur and delusion but the reality is too far from the truth.
Cambodia is worst than Egypt, where the youths are generally uneducated compared to Egyptians youth, they do not get quality education because quality education breeds quality mind, and quality mind could spell a threat to the Clan of CPP dominated Cambodia.
The development that Mr. Panh speak of is the development of Chinese dams flooding rural residents of Cambodia, Vietnamese dams killing ecosystems of the Northeast, the guesthouse and hotels of Koreans and gambling casinos of Thais that bring in their security services, polices, and military to evict, forced, and beat Khmer citizens into submission.
yes, it is all a wonderful achievement of Mr. Hun Sen. 99 years of farm and rubber plantations to Vietnam at expense of Khmer farmers and destruction of communal indigenous livelihoods. These indeed are the proud establishment of peace and development that have come to symbolize Varman Decho's development schemes.
Dishonest people will have their time, no one lives forever, but the memory of a disgraced clan and regime will be edged on the Cambodian history forever.

To all those who criticize Hun Sen for whatever reasons you may have, please answer me one question: Would the same developments that are happening now in the country - the school buildings, the foreign investments in Cambodia, the current flows of generous foreign aids, the political peace and stability - be retained if Scam Rainsy or one of his political prostitutes like Kem Sucker is elected as PM?
My first observation is that the Scam Rainsy government immediately will lack stability. It will lack experience. It will lack support within the army. It will lack experienced team to fill the cabinet posts. It will lack the system in which it can ensure that there will be no power grab / struggle in the country like what happened after the 1993 election.
In fact, I am sure that Scam Rainsy will bring even more rampant corruption to Cambodia, because he will not be able to control his underlings who are all dirt poor and all of whom enter politics with the opposition in order to "one day, hopefully" secure a lucrative post and enrich himself.
That is Cambodia, lady and gentleman. Those who preach that Hun Sen is bad haven't looked beyond the fence and see what the other side is. Life after Hun Sen, esp. under the useless foreign idiot Scam Rainsy, will be hell.
And for all your information, KI Media is a biased news outlet for the opposition. KI Media's mission is to spread all information that are against the government, including lies, distortion of truth, racism against Vietnamese (why do you always highlight Hanoi in your article?).

You speak hypothetically. When you say if Sam Rainsy. Which means he has not lead Cambodia yet. Which your observation is diluted. You seem to approve how cops and military are used to evict or beat or manhandle females into trucks to be hauled off.
Your English is great which means you have never been to Cambodia to see the reality. It's a shame how you would approve Hun Sen and his clan treat his own people.

I see a lot of Vietnamese immigrants live everywhere in Cambodia and they have more power than Khmer people. Khmer authority under Hun Sen governance can't touch them, but sometime they can kill Khmer innocent people as the same as Pol Pot regime.
