SINGAPORE: The Singapore Embassy in Cambodia, together with UNESCO, has launched a website, carrying contents of ancient Cambodian manuscripts.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the Embassy has been supporting UNESCO, through a fund, for the last two years in its work to digitise the manuscripts.
The manuscripts, written on latania leaves, faced extinction in the 1990s.
They are Cambodia's only written heritage available, apart from stone inscriptions, and an information source for researchers on the country's religious and cultural practices and customs.
The website was launched on Wednesday evening at the French Cultural Centre in Phnom Penh.

There are many old Khmer scripts in Thailand and Northeast Thailand
(Khmer Surin,even few Khmer Surin
could not read it,but preserved it;
it was better than Pol Pot that destroyed it).
The young generation could not read without old generation help them or lead them to read.
My old generation could read it,but the new generation Me,couldn't.
I am not blaming the old one,but not the NEW GENERATION ME,all of you below 50 years old.

Most of the old generation of Khmer are able to read and write.
It is also not too late for the young generation to learn to write and to read. Because the writing way of our Khmer language are almost the same.

Those evil bastards (Yuon secret agents) destroyed many books of Khmer History, Khmer artistic painting, sculptures, etc. Those bastards (Yuon secret agents) could speak and write Khmer language very well and kill millions of innocent Khmer people. You need to blame Vietcong communist Hanoi masters who are the ones created the horrible Killing Fields, who the ones sent his Viet/Yuon secret agents to hide in Cambodia for a long time along with Khmer under Ho Chi Minh (bastard/communist neo). Pol Pot and real Khmer Rouges armies/soldiers did not destroy those you mentioned in your comment. You need to know the words "Angkar Leur" or "Cap Tren" that were originated initially from Viet/Hanoi communist masters. You need to know why everything had been destroyed in the Killing Fields in the blind eyes of the gullible people of Cambodia and foreigners. It has been well known that, the Killing Fields was created by Khmer Rouges, but Viet/Yuon Hanoi communist masters did originally.
