The Chinese government will encourage Chinese banks to lend to Chinese investors wishing to do business in Cambodia, said Zhang Xiaoqiang, Vice Minister of the National Development and Reform Commission on Tuesday.
Zhang made the remarks during a meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen at the Peace Palace, the premier's spokesman Eang Sophalleth told reporters after the meeting.
Zhang said that his visit to Cambodia was to strengthen and expand cooperation between the two countries after the leaders of the two governments announced in December to raise the two countries' relations to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation.
He is to visit Chinese firms operating in Cambodia "in order to encourage them to continue and expand their investment to contribute to the development of Cambodia," Zhang told the premier.
Zhang highlighted that the bilateral trade between China and Cambodia was 1.4 billion U.S. dollars last year and would be more this year.
He also promised to urge Chinese companies to import more goods from Cambodia.
Meanwhile, Hun Sen asked China to consider importing agricultural products from Cambodia including rice, corn and cassava.
"Cambodia is full of agricultural potentials; this will be a good opportunity for Chinese investors to put their ventures in agricultural processing plants here," he said.

The Chinese are always welcome in Cambodia, however it's the Cambodian govt that disturb their poor people as they do not have power to fight back. Can't blame the Chinese for that.

I went to some islands in Koh Kong. Most islands, and along the coast of Puy Yipon( Japanes Coast) Khmer were/are cleared by force to make way for Chinese. Khmer have been live in this islands and coastal area generation after generation. Their way of life were to fish or foraging any sea food. However, now these people were moved to live in the jungle with nothing to eat, dying because there are no hospital, and worst are not allow to plant anything for food. Anybody can see this. To get there, take high way to Koh Kong, after 2nd bridge, take left turn, drive all way, pass Tamor Sor/White Rock, you will see thousands of house built and house our unfortunate Khmer whome have been removed by force to live in a place they do not want to live. Some portion of road are being built by Khmer army for Chinese devlepment, this mean including cut down our trees and ship out to China.Folks, this is not develompent, it is raping our resources, raping our Khmer way of life, raping our culture, and we should not, must not allow this to happen.

You are worried about Chinese leader sending more investors in Cambodia. I think Chinese people are very kind and generous.
Khmer people have been blind by Yuon's tricks that China will swallow the entire Southeast Asia. It would not happen. Chinese believe only the true history, not trying to make bad reputation of China. Chinese people don't usually have the bad mouths like Yuon people, insulting Khmer/Cambodia people. It is very different story between Khmer and Chinese because they were very good friends for thousands years from birth of both nations. Chinese wants to keep that way in the history. Why? When China was under the control of Mongol Empire, Khmer empire was there side by side with China and Chinese people in the beginning with Mongol invasion. Without Khmer empire, Mongol would take over the Southeast Asia. In the modern day, without the US, China would not grow economically. Now, China is rising. I feel bad that China is still RED Communist.
Yuon always created the problem and bad history of Vietnam.
I have watched the Charlies Ross interviewing the Chinese leader. Chinese leaders and people are not always open-minded with Yuon.
Hun Sen has very big penis that is why he so success. He has full of testoterone in his genetic that is he can do most thing that normal khmer people don't dare to do.
Genetic and testoterone are the key success of Hun Sen.
But it is bad that Hun Sen does contain mental illiness genetic like bipolar disorder that make him feel that he has absolute power and willing to be Cambodian prime minister untill all his grandchildren death that is very strong commitment of Hun Sen mental illiness bipolar disorder, obsessive composive disorder.
