Cambodia's government passed a law last month that places restrictions on foreign men who want to marry Cambodian women.

Foreign men older than 50 or who make less than $2,500 per month can no longer marry Cambodian women, according to regulations introduced by Cambodia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs last month.
“If a 60-year-old man got married to a 20-year-old girl, what does it look like?” said Koy Kuong, the spokesman for the ministry, when asked to explain the regulations. “It looks like a grandfather and a granddaughter.”
Chou Bun Eng, chairwoman of the Cambodian government’s One Window Service for International Marriage, said the rules aim to prevent “fake marriages,” in which elderly men use marriage to obtain a free maid.
Mr. Kuong said the rules were introduced due to an increase in marriage applications from foreigners, notably South Koreans. Last year, Cambodia temporarily banned marriages to South Koreans after police caught a marriage broker bringing rural women to Korea.

Kuy Kung , you don't know that the law is stupid and it's not going to make any difference . If you are a foriegner and 50 or older you can't marry a Cambodian woman but if you are under 50 you can . That means , if you are 49 or younger you can marry a Cambodian woman , right ? That's such a tupid law that have been made by stupid people from CPP . What makes you think it's different between 49 and 50 year old people ?

Why your're so mad I bet all of your over 50 years old right that what made your so mad. I supported the law even I dislike ah slave Yuon CPP. Because I have seen alot of old men, fats and uglies people went to Cambodian get a prety young Chicks for there wives.
It is possible to marry a young girl for a foreigner older as 50 , just more costly. The Cambodian citizenship for an foreigner will bring US $ 220 000.00 in the Cambodian government cash box.
Now just the rich can afford it to have a young Khmer wife .

Actually i really support this new law because these grandfathers shouldn't marry a young cambodian girls especially foreigners. It makes cambodia a sex haven to all grandpas and foreigners. You are mad because you are old man who love young girls or you're lazy that don't make more than $2500/months. If you have a choose, would you let daughter married a 50 years old man or older?
The idiots who don't like this law are getting mad because they are 50 or over who make less than $2500/month and try to get a young wife. Especially, the refugee idiots oversea!
You are all stupid if you support this laws. No one or any government can tell you what to Marry or eat at his ages. If a 50-70 yrs old, man or woman want to married young wife just let them. do the process like any other country.
If a 65 old man want to fuck Hun Sen daughter or wife Buny let them. If they both are HAPPY..
This law will not save or do anything for the country youth or old. Government need to focus on education and help create jobs for the Cambodian people future. Why this laws become so important to ours country and pass right away? I seem to me like some at the government wife are involed
Question: If I am a Cambodian man under the age of 30 and make less than $2,500 a month do I still be able to married a Cambodian women?
