At approximately 6 p.m. I had my Nokia phone stolen by a Cambodian woman, never before seen by Metro staff, who was sitting next to me at the counter of Metro Cafe, while I was engaged doing work on my computer. The security camera captured the image of the Cambodian woman sitting next to me and showed me putting my phone in my unzipped computer bag - which was lying on the seat between us - just after I finished a phone conversation on that same phone with a friend. According to the Metro staff, it’s the first time a phone has been reported stolen there during its 5 years of operation.
What is noteworthy is that she is a local woman who came in to sit in one empty bar seat between me engaged on my computer and Kiwi Nathan engaged with two other friends, when only 1/3 or less of the restaurant were occupied; that is to say, a never-seen-before-local woman, dressed in normal clothes came in to sit between a preoccupied me and an engaged Kiwi man for less than 8 minutes before walking away with my phone.
I am more concerned about the potential manipulation of data than the actual loss of the physical machine (which is at least 4 yrs. old and dropped countless times of little monetary value), especially in light of the timing in relation to my public role in opening up the highly, political cases of 003/004 at the Extraordinary Chambers.
It's a tedious hassle if it’s a normal theft; it's an added threat if it's politically related to my work and activities re ECCC Cases 003/004. As everything is closed for the Khmer new year, it will be not till next week when I can start to retrieve and hopefully be reached on this number again.
I owned and regularly used only one phone of this well-known number 012.222.552. I condemn beforehand any manipulation of data and information.

now Theary starts abusing KI Media as her facebook status update or personal lost and found office. Who cares if you are pissed? Why does the whole world needs to know about it? Can you not just stop taking yourself way too seriously?
Theary is the drama queen, and what's up with KI? KI can't find enough news to post or what?
She did not abuse KI, just that KI has regular customers mainly from Yuon speaking Khmers and from Khmers who're bought by Yuon.
May be they want to check her out to whom does she work for? Does she work for the US (UN)? or is she an opportunist looking for fame and dollars and so on. Furthermore many of Yuon wonder why she is in Cambodia without harm, then they may want to know who is her giant support? If Yuon find out any high ranking in CPP are her protegee, Yuon will drag those out in the night and chain them to Hanoi.
Perhaps, her phone is OK, if it was not OK with all confidential documents in it, she wouldn't had left it visible to others to see it.

Who care just lost one phone or one number?
The fact, Theary Seng's phone was stolen, and she deserved to make noise against the lawless country of Cambodia. Some of you who dislike her as a person don't have to stoop too low yourself.
I don't care what Theary Seng does, but the thief who stole her phone could be ordered by some jerks to steal the phone, just to check about her.
What I didn't understand why did Theary Seng leave her phone even next to her for others to see if she may have had secret files?
I said her phone may be stored only the phone of her family members and friends or to whom she phoned.
Then go get another phone and dis-activate the one the thief stole. It is so simple instead of going online posting making a big deal out of it.
Theary Seng seems to be an intelligent woman, but she is not a wise woman when comes to deal with this odd news she created.
you only acted carelessly, maybe to voluntsrily leak the data storeed in it.
On the other hand if it is not so, that is the price you had paid to be only showy and prideful.

eventhough it is a 4 year old Nokia, it looks like a smart phone type from the photo. it must contain self incriminating and damaging pictures and texts. that's why she is petrified. the way she goes about this public announcement causes a lot of turn offs for people. theary, grow up. don't dwell on the center of attention this much. as you see, nobody gives a shit about you.
Khmer people is very jealous with one another. They don't like whoever is better than them. As Theary Seng tries to do her best to help out Khmer people, they don't like her either. They like Youn and stupid leaders like Hun Sen and Sihanouk. They still bow to the man who robs Khmer people's land and give it to Youn.
Don't listen and pay attention to these low class people. They try to divide Khmer people and her country apart.

This woman is smart. She knew all along someone was following her. She knew it was politically motivated. So she inserted a GPS tracking device in her phone and placed it close to the person who was following her then she left. Now she can find out who her real enemies were.
To all the people who don't like her, please leave her alone. She may not be perfect, she may look too sexy for you, maybe she likes white dicks than khmer dicks but in the end you have to give her credit for all the things she has done for the poor, weak and powerless khmer people. To these people, she is the only voice they have and in Cambodia this means a great deal because nobody cares about these people anymore.

Are you sure these people who wrote their comments are all Khmer people?
Assuming that they are Khmers, still you cannot accuse them that they are jealous with anyone, they only express their opinions like other people on the planet. It is called human beings. Are you trying to defend others like Viets or Thais or other non-Khmers that they are the people who have no feeling of jealousy only Khmers?
If they are not jealous type of people then why the Viets have never let Khmer live in peace? Your reasons are so stupid.

she is not a stupid girl, she has done many good things for her people, though within her work doesn't seem to be related to political issues, she does help her country. some of you may not like her character on the show, but the woman is not there to please you, she only does to please what she sees fits her ambitions, and we all do in our life time.
there are people who dislike us but there are people who like us. you don't like her but i do like her and i don'y even know her in person. the bottom line is she has not killed any one like hun sen and his wife bun samheang or bunrani always do kill and manipulate people.
furthermore, theary seng is a real deal not a fake people like hun sen and his big face wife bun samheang who hold tons of degrees but cannot write and read.
this to you theary seng: don't pay attentions to some of these faultfinders too much, but i suggest that you can change your character to a bit more humble and keep a low profile and focus on doing thing that can help cambodia and her khmer people.
