Indonesia has to take its shared responsibilities for failing to place observers on the Cambodian side. Cambodia has agreed to whatever the ternms of references proposed by Indonesia to place its observers. Despite the mandate given by the UN Security Council, however, and ASEAN Foreign Ministers' meeting on 22 Feb 2011, Indonesia is dragging its feet.
What ashame!!!

All Khmer must understand that the Khmer-Thai war is simply ah Youn trick to turn away Khmer and the world attention from its strategy to swallow Cambodia. Have you seen while Youn prime minister come to meet Hun Sen to accelerate to finish installing the border posts, in the mean time, Preah Vihear clash happened? Each accuse each other whom the first start the fire. As the Khmer people, do you always believe that Thai started to fire first? Have you seen Thai start the first as what CPP government backed by Youn? Do you always believe CPP government what they told you? Is CPP a credible government? If they want to finish that war is very sample. They need simply to bring that case to the UN Security Council and insist them to result the case by the UN rather the ASEAN. The case come to ASEAN was the YOUN plan, it s happen because Ah Horn am Hong is a YOUN who manage the case accordingly to Ah Youn plan. If the case resulted by the UN Khmer will have advantage on everything accordingly to the peace accord agreement on October 23th 1991. That accord will result the same time the Youn encroachment on Khmer land. That is why, ah Youn and ah Hun Sen Gang always wishes that ASEAN result that case. You do remember that ah Hun Sen said that war will last many years, they know that in their plan is to create that war to turn Khmer attention away from what Ah You is swallowing Cambodia such as: Boeung Kak issue, Prey Lang, Border encroachment, Youn immigration, Oil drilling management, atrocity to Khmer people and so many more. This war is also to help Youn economics to export their good to Cambodia when Thai border is unstable. More and more I believe Khmer is on the brink of REVOLUTION which is the only way to save Cambodia.

The Thai foreign minister spoke to CNN that Thai does not want to put pressure/burderns on the United Nation. He said Thai favors bilateral peace making. He boasted that Thailand has a democratic government and his society is more civilised. He forgets how many elected Thai governments were ousted by the Thai Monarch and so-called "obedient" Thai Army? Really, his government is a "puppet" democratic Thai government!, (a Thai style - somtarm Thai style, krung tep nah krup!, Laos style more delicious....***smile***)
Clearly, a bilateral solution is not working as evidence from clashes confronted since 2008. The Thai government is not fit politically to enter any workable agreement with Cambodia. Likewise, Cambodia under the leadership of Hun Sen does not has the capacity to make peace with Thai, and Thailand knows this. Because of the way Hun Sen rule Cambodia, his pillars of support/power, bilateral peace making only benefits Thailand. And Thailand wants the same benefits, more or less, as in the Eastern parts of Cambodia.
I agree with the Thai foreign minister, slightly, just slightly, that there are mechanisms already in place to solve border disputes. The mechanism I am referring to is the 1991 Paris Peace Accord. There were 19 countries, including Cambodia and Thailand, the signatories in that treaty. The treaty ensures Cambodian sovereignity and territorial integrity. Cambodian government of the day should use it, and summon these countries to a round table, so to ensure its sovereignity and territorial integrity is protected.
Lastly, Cambodia should unilaterally invite and accept international observers on its side of the border, embedding with Cambodian army close to the border, if Cambodia geniunely cares about its own border and sovereignity. In this way, Cambodia does not need Thai to consent to have these observers. But, if Cambodia too plays politics with its border issue as Thailand does, (as Thai election is approaching), or delays any further, the theory that in a 100 years times Vietnam and Thailand will be neighbours may be true and even come sooner.

No need a biliteral talk because simply it will never work. For more than three years these issues have not been solved. Preah vichear has been listed by the unesco of khmer world heritage. So, it is up to khmer to do whatever we like to the temple and its surrounding area of 4.6km. This is not to count on the land we already lost to the land for centuries ago. If you look at the most of the temples in Thailand it was originally belong to khmer because they are duplication of the ankhor or other temples around khmer land. So, Thai people should appreciate and respect us by leaving us alone for once. The Viets have helped us in many ways but never did the Thai. From 1979 Viets not only gave us rice to eat but also save the whole nation. Unlike Thai, they helped to killed us by dumping us onto the mine-field from 1979-1983. Most khmer overseas had to face with alot of crisis before arriving into the first world.
So, we have to continue work with the Viets and help each other out in term of protecting both of our nations. So, far half of khmer nation are khmer-viets and there is nothing you can do about it. As a matter of fact both of our nations become much better and stronger than ever. The only thing we need to do is to continue to promote unity and love for both nations. Wisdom
