BANGKOK, April 23 (Bernama) -- Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has called for Thai-Cambodian bilateral meetings to quickly resolve unsettled border issues -- following a new spate of clashes between Thai and Cambodian troops which erupted Friday, killing some six soldiers on both sides so far and more than a dozen other people wounded, Thai News Agency (TNA) reported.
Abhisit said both sides should resume bilateral talks based on existing mechanisms, namely the Regional Border Committee (RBC) and the Joint Boundary Commission (JBC).
The Thai premier, however, reaffirmed Thailand's stance on solving the unsettled border problems with neighbouring Cambodia bilaterally to sort out solutions and prevent future clashes.
Meanwhile, the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned Cambodian Ambassador to Thailand to formally lodge a protest against Cambodian troop's assaults.

These clashes will not find any solution for any dispute so they have to sit and talk with each other then they can find a good and peaceful solution for this situation.

Again, I urge the khmer gov't to increase in migrating more Viets for at least another 2 millions and place them around preah vihear area along the 4.6km ASAP. Because the Thai people are taking advantage of us and our down fall. We have to find way to protect our nation and our country and to do that we all must be united and work together as a team. Remember this, the Viet have helped us in many ways but never did the Thai. In 1979-1980 they helped to killed our people by dumping us in the mine-field. Many of us were killed by them. less we forget!!!. So, it is better for Viets than for the Thai. In 1979 the viets not only gave us rice to eat but also saved the whole nation. Please don't let anyone put both Viet and khmer down. We all must work together as a team and promote peace and harmony.
