We tend to agree that Hun Sen and his government is pro-Vietnamese and there is no question about that. However, Cambodia cannot afford to fight the two bigger and more aggressive neighbours at the same time and nobody can deny this fact.
Cambodia has always since the last century 3 main problems. These 3 problems have always been the cause of her destruction and downfalls.
The first problem is the desire of the Vietnamese to subjugate and, if possible, eliminate Cambodia by taking over her completely.
The second problem is the same problem as mentioned above, but now on the part of the Thais who want the same thing as the Vietnamese.
The above 2 problems won't go away and we cannot do anything much about it.
The third problem is the internal division among Cambodians at all levels from peasants to kings and the desire of the Cambodian so-called leaders, again from peasants to kings, to look after their interests and those of their cronies first and the nation later. This is the problem that can be solved among the Khmers, but the solution to this problem has continuously been able to elude the Cambodians and it does not appear that there is any solution in sight to solve this rather permanant problems the nation faces.
Look at Cambodia in the current climate of time and one can see that we are again facing the two much more powerful neighbours who are constantly reminding us that they will eliminate us completely if they can and yet we, the children of Angkor, cannot work in unity or tegether for the commaon sake of the country we all profess publically that we love so much and this inability to work together is perhaps genetic since the oppositions who are on death bed still fight among themselves with no end in sight.
Let us not forget that without the UN, the international community and the modern interactions and rules between states, Cambodia would have been erased from the world map!
Should we attack Hun Sen and undermine him for everything and then at the same time expect him and his government to defend Cambodia against the Thai aggressiveness with success?
Should we wish that the Thais should invade and the oppositions take that opportunity to work for a government change in Cambodia at a cost of the 4.6 square kilometers of land around Preah Vihear and other losses?
Let us not forget that the oppositions may then also fight among themselves for control of power once Hun Sen and the CPP are gone and some may resort to calling for help from the Vietnamese.
*if samrainsy to be KHMER PM now...Thai do the same.we need Hun sen destroy Thai invading [His Turn]and we need Samrainsy destroy Hanoi soon.[Samrainsy Turn]. DEARR TAI KHNOCH
