Phnom Penh - Authorities in Phnom Penh have told a local advertising firm to take down billboards claiming that May 21 would see the beginning of the end of the world, national media reported Wednesday.
The adverts, posted by a US evangelical group called Family Radio, state: 'Judgement Day, May 21, 2011. The Bible Guarantees It.'
Family Radio predicted that all souls would be judged Saturday with worldwide chaos in store for five months until earth's destruction on October 21.
Pol Sopheap, the general manager of the Cambo Advertising Co, told the Cambodia Daily newspaper that city authorities had ordered his firm to remove the messages from five billboards.
The Information Ministry said the billboards must be removed 'to avoid confusion among the public and to ensure public order.'
Family Radio said its billboards have proven highly effective in transmitting its message.
'They are placed in many US, Canadian and foreign cities not only by Family Radio but other organizations and individuals as well,' Family Radio's website said, adding that there were more than '2,000 billboards, posters, and bus posters throughout the world with many going up weekly.'
Pol Sopheap said the contract for the adverts was scheduled to end Saturday.
Cambodia's 15 million people are predominantly Buddhist. In 2007, the government banned Christian groups from proselytizing after reports that people were being tricked into converting from Buddhism through material incentives.

I wonder if someone can ask the Christians' God to delay this end-of-world thingy for a couple of days, so we can at least enjoy the final of the Rugby World Cup.
As for heathen Buddhists, I don't know....I think I'd rather be a heathen Buddhist than a follower of a God who constantly threatens to end the lives of "his" people. I find it hard to understand that some Christians are happy that non-Christians will be destroyed. So much for love thy neighbors, eh?

Maybe but always be open minded any thing can happen to anyone any day and that is the end of the world for you individually alright. So, who knows, it is up to God to decide and whether we live or die, it doesn't matter, what matters is how good are you? will you be good enough enter the kingdom of God. If not 21st of May this year than wait until the 21st of Dec 2012, because all predictions seem to come to this same date, like Mayamar, I-ching, Nostradomus, the revelation (bible) the sign of the end is when all things happened simultanously like earth qauke, shunami, fire, flood, war, mono sexual, etc.

God, who created time as we know it and he also has set that time limit that he will bring all things into Judgment.
If God doesn't judge, then why seek justice for the victims of Pol Pot?
Justice and Judgment comes from him. Man may not follow his exact plan to mite out that justice but all his judgments are true and just altogether. No man will escape his judgment. At death, all man will appear before his Judgment seat in heaven.
Judgment Day is Coming but this group has it wrong in predicting this set-time. Fear God, who is able to destroy the body & spirit!

True, God's Judgment is about removing worthless beings like you and many others who want nothing to do with God. Because God's kingdom is about and truth, righteousness, holiness and right living. He wouldn't want a sinner to contaminate his holiness, so he hath to get rid of them.
