PHNOM PENH (Xinhua) – The government of China on Thursday delivered 50,000 sets of military uniforms to Cambodia, signaling a closer defense cooperation between the two nations.
The hand-over ceremony was held at the Military Airport in Phnom Penh between Zhang Jianlin, Chinese military attach to Cambodia, and Lt. Gen. Sun Samnang, director general of Cambodia' s Defense Ministry's logistics and finance department, under the witness of the four-star general Moeung Samphan, a secretary of state for Cambodian Defense Ministry.
Speaking after the hand-over ceremony, Zhang Jianlin said that the donation of military uniforms was made after the meeting between Chinese President Hu Jintao and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen in May last year in Shanghai.
At that time, Hu Jintao pledged a joined package of 257 military trucks and 50,000 sets of military uniforms to Cambodia.
The 257 military trucks had delivered to Cambodia in June last year.
"Now, to honor the promise, Chinese government has handed over the uniforms to Cambodia today," he said.
"Chinese Defense Ministry hopes that the uniforms will help relieve the shortage of Royal Cambodian Armed Forces," he said. "The donation also reflects honest and good cooperation between Chinese and Cambodian armies."
He continued to say that China is pleased to help Cambodian military sector as much as possible to tighten closer cooperation ties between the two nations.
Meanwhile, Moeung Samphan expressed profound thanks to the government of China and Chinese Army for their continuous supports to Cambodian armed forces and highly evaluated the good cooperation between Cambodian and Chinese defense ministries.
"The donation of the military uniforms today is on the right time as Cambodia is facing the shortage of military materials," he said. "Cambodia firmly hopes that China will continue further support to Cambodian armed forces."

Prince Sihanouk: China, Chou Eng Lay, Soviet Union, North Korea, Kim Il Sung, and a few other words that represent political oppression and naivety. These are the catch words for King Sihanouk before he was banished into exile because he had too much dream that never materialized. I wonder if Khmer King Sihanouk is still in Beijing. The Chinese look down on Cambodia because 15 millions of Cambodians are not able to feed and look after the King allowing him to trot back and forth between China and Cambodia. Can Khmers be treated with some international dignity in the foreseeable future?
Not too important how our Khmer military look like. Important for us, that they love and protect our country.

Why don't china gave anti-tank weapons and anti-jet aircrafts to khmer rough at that time ? Koh Tral Island must not be forgotten

Why do Koh Tral Island, known in Vietnam as Phu Quoc, a sea and land area covering proximately over 30,000 km2 [Note: the actual land size of Koh Tral itself is 574 square kilometres (222 sq miles)] have been lost to Vietnam by whose treaty? Why don’t Cambodia government be transparent and explain to Cambodia army at front line and the whole nation about this? Why don't they include this into education system? Why?
Cambodian armies are fighting at front line for 4.6 km2 on the Thai border and what's about over 30,000km2 of Cambodia to Vietnam. Nobody dare to talk about it! Why? Cambodian armies you are decide the fate of your nation, Cambodian army as well as Cambodian people must rethink about this again and again. Is it fair?
Koh Tral Island, the sea and land area of over 30,000 square kilometres have been lost to Vietnam by the 1979 to 1985 treaties. The Cambodian army at front line as well as all Cambodian people must rethink again about these issues. Are Cambodian army fighting to protect the Cambodia Nation or protecting a very small group that own big lands, big properties or only protecting a small group but disguising as protecting the Khmer nation?
The Cambodian army at front lines suffer under rain, wind, bullets, bombs, lack of foods, lack of nutrition and their families have no health care assistance, no securities after they died but a very small group eat well, sleep well, sleep in first class hotel with air conditioning system with message from young girls, have first class medical care from oversea medical treatments, they are billionaires, millionaires who sell out the country to be rich and make the Cambodian people suffer everyday.
Who signed the treaty 1979-1985 that resulted in the loss over 30,000 km2 of Cambodia??? Why they are not being transparent and brave enough to inform all Cambodians and Cambodian army at front line about these issues? Why don't they include Koh Tral (Koh Tral size is bigger than the whole Phom Phen and bigger than Singapore [Note: Singapore's present land size is 704 km2 (271.8 sq mi)]) with heap of great natural resources, in the Cambodian education system?
Look at Hun Sen's families, relatives and friends- they are billionaires, millionaires. Where did they get the money from when we all just got out of war with empty hands [in 1979]? Hun Sen always say in his speeches that Cambodia had just risen up from the ashes of war, just got up from Year Zero with empty hands and how come they are billionaires, millionaires but 90% of innocent Cambodian people are so poor and struggling with their livelihood every day?

You are telling us that there are Communist Vietcong military troops occupied in Cambodia and created the the second Killing Fields after 1975-79 Killing Fields under Communist Vietnamese/Yuon Angkar Leur/Cap Tren from Hanoi. Pol Pot was not one who did not create the Killing Fields. Yes, Vietnamese Communist leaders have killed more than 2 millions of Khmer people. How? Vietnamese secret agents were hiding among Khmer Rouges armies or troops. Those (Yuon/Viet Secret agents) pretended to be Khmer Rouges in front of gullible Cambodian people and foreigners (like Journalists, i.e., John Pilger, etc). Today, you are trying to create a second the Killing Fields called Nambodia. Then Cambodia will be come Nambodia province of Vietcong. That is what you want.
The UN, NATO and powerful countries will blame Vietnamese Communist leaders who are the ones who killed several millions people of Cambodia/Khmer and who pushed Sihanouk to accept the peace agreement and foreign policies with Vietnam since the Vietnam war with the United States. Do you want the UN, NATO and powerful countries like USA, UK, Canada, Aussie, France, Italy, Brazil, South Korea, Turkey, Spain, etc to invade Vietnam and stop and destroy or arrest Vietnamese Communist leaders and bring the International Tribunal or International Court and punished cruel/violent Vietnamese Communist leaders, and stop Communist Vietnamese leaders from murdering Cambodian people until today or in the 21st century.
