Through the president of the NatAss (National Assembly), recently, SRP MPs asked the minister of Interior to confiscate police and army license plates, as well as various other irregular license plates that can be seen adorning new private vehicles. These private vehicles use these license plates in order to avoid vehicle tax.
In a letter sent yesterday to Sar Kheng, the minister of Interior and chairman of the traffic regulation authority, the SRP MPs requested for the confiscation of irregular license plates and that these vehicles be forced to register as stipulated by the law. Furthermore, the SRP MPs indicated that if these vehicles really belong to the army, then they should be painted in olive green instead.
The SRP MPs noted also that after Hun Xen shouted his warning on 2009, the number of vehicles bearing police and army license plates drop, but currently, this number is currently on the rising and many of these vehicles can be seen in public roads in the kingdom. The majority of vehicles bearing police and army license plates are Lexus, Toyota Land Cruiser and Land Rover luxury vehicles.

It is a banana kingdom in action.
i know, there's always a bad apple among the many who are otherwise law abiding, etc! i praise the opposition MPs for trying to weed out the bad ones who still abuse the law or tax evasion if they can get away. it's great that some leaders are taking a proactive approach to this. yes, everyone can help to make a difference for cambodia. when we see one, we should do something to correct it and discourage them to stop cheating the khmer people and the country. i think it's the individual person that continue to cheat the state, not the gov't. these corrupted individuals when caught, should be made to reimburse the state. it should not be tolerated, period!
i think the more people talk about it or do something about it, the moore these crooked individuals will be aware of people seeing them and report to the proper authority to do something about it!
these corrupted individuals are despicable! report corruption or gov't waste to the anti-corruption unit, really! that the only way we help cambodia to make real change or reform, really!
No doubt this country (Cambodia) has been running by monkeys government, under laws of jungle and justice by kangaroo courts.
i only blame the individuals that did this, not the whole gov't of cambodia, ok! don't be so ignorant, not everybody in cambodia is that corrupted, ok! if someone is corrupted like this, then report them to the anti-corruption unit, ok! stop the bias and cynicism on cambodia, ok! not fair and a sign of ignorant people to stereotype my country like this, ok! not funny, you know!
This story is not the corruption .It is the power abuse . The problem in Cambodia is like that, for Some people when they have a power they would do what as they want .They try to profit all the ways that they can . The source which cause all these thing is the court, because Cambodia court is not fair . When you are rich and power ,what you said is right .
I totally agree with comment 11:58AM! I wish the LAW in cambodia will have more affects on this kind of people...do not allow this kind of people do whatever they wanted!
I think corruptions law is WEAK!! Rich and powerful family still getting off the hook...
Many of these drivers with army(rcaf), police, states plates are assholes on the road, they think they have the right of way. The others assholes are people with VIP on their dashboard. Fuck them!
the world should help cambodia to strengthen the anti-corruption ministry so we can all fight corruption in cambodia. nobody in their right mind want corruption in cambodia either, you know! please help strengthen anti-corruption by training and education and enforcement, etc, etc... thank you and god bless.

I agree with you. But no matter how much of help is from the world, if the Cambodian gov’t is not truthfully willing to strengthen the anti-corruption law, it will not work.
As a starting point they need cleanup the corrupt judiciary system.

OK! how about help from China and Vietname? I only have one eye you know?
