National army chief Prayuth Chan-ocha praised Natural Resources and Environment Minister Suwit Khunkitti's decison to withdraw from the World Heritage Convention and said he has ordered soldiers along the Thai-Cambodian border to be prepared.
Gen Prayuth said on Monday the army is overseeing security, monitoring intelligence activities and observing movements along the border in order to protect the country's sovereignty.
More troops and health personnel had been sent to villages near the border area to inform residents about the situation and avet any panic.
"After withdrawing from the World Heritage Convention, we now have to wait for the decision of the International Court of Justice.
"Thai and Cambodian soldiers have been in contact on a regular basis since the last clashes along the border, but there's not a high degree of trust between them yet," the army chief said.
He said Mr Suwit made a good decision to withdraw Thailand's membership of the World Heritage Convention.
The decision to withdraw from the WHC was made by Mr Suwit, who led the Thai delegation to the World Heritage Committee meeting in Paris on Saturday, June 25.

General Prayuth has gone beserk or mad like the PAD.
For its ambition of territory invasion, Thai must separate itself from international community. First of all it withdraw from WHC. Then from the United Nations and... The separating can make Thai do anything out of law. It can make war, conquer other countries freely because it is not a member of any international committee or organization.
Do the world will allow this country to do like this? Why the world keep calm with this?

It shown that the Siem is not interested in protecting the temple. If they can't have it they want to destroy it. The attitude of Siem is very bad. Angkor Wat was bad damaged by the Siem in the past, Cambodia should make them pay for those damaged.

I would advise Cambodian parlimentarians to remain calm and collective as tension might grew after Thailand withdrew from WHC. This is a strategy being played by China, Thailand and United States.
WHY?
War means casualties for both sides, hence, Cambodia must remain calm and collective; and continue to pressure the UN and WHC to observe Thailand and its activities along Cambodian border for any strange bahaviors impose by Thailand and her military might toward weaker nation such as Cambodia. Sometimes, war does not depending on having to go through a bloodshed to resolve problems.
Cambodian PM ought to continously pounding the UN, ICJ, WHC and United States to tell Thailand that Cambodia is a peaceful nation and a nation of peace and friendship and would like to make friend or be friend with her neighbors and that Cambodia has spent a great deal of time and effort on building peace and not war on this road to stability.
Should Cambodia falls into this trap set forth indirectly by these Super Power Nations, it means Cambodia and Thailand will go to war against each other and therefore, the supplies of arms and munitions will have to be bought and prepared by each country and those countries that are manufacturing these arms and munitions will be very happy to see Cambodia and Thailand at war.
If these Super Power Nations are hating terrorists so much why would they indirectly promoting war between Cambodia and Thailand? This would simply shows that Super Powers do not care who is fighting whom as long as they are making the money by selling arms and munitions to those who want wars.
I say fuck China, US, Russia, Germany, France and Brittan and to tell them to back off and ask them a simple question: What if Cambodia and Laos join Al Quaeda and buying Uranium and Plutonium to make a small nuclear scale bombs and strap them with a Unibombers and walk into their government building and just let it out? How would they feel?
You cant promote peace by building arms and instigate others to take on war when they have problems. There is only love at the end to cure whatever our differences between us all and only love will solve everything in this world.
