i think in the future or cambodia, any capable and qualified khmer can become prime minister via law, election, etc. and i the name of the political party should be chosen wisely, not have the name of founder(s) but more of a name with reflects its philosophy, etc... forget name like sam rainsy party, etc, etc; it sounds to personal and narcissism, etc, i think! perhaps it should be names like the liberal party, the indenpendence party, the neutral party, the no discrimination party, the khmer for development party, the khmer for peace party, the khmer for equal rights party, etc, etc, but certainly not a living person's name. well, it's a matter of debate. usually an effective party works well together, if a party have so many problems of their own, than their effectiveness or seriousness is questionable, etc! a political party need to have a code of conduct or professional ethics. it seemed most of them are lacked of professional code of ethics, etc. and all parties should make themselves known to khmer people and cambodia, they must have a political agenda with national interest at its core, really! anyway, just my thought here, ok!

In the developed country, every body under 18 must attend school, it' s the law. So, all their population have high school education and as you mention, when people educated, they make a wise choice in doing every thing including choosing their leader.
Teachers should not have to find a second job to support their family, they must be paid well.

Just read the comments here and one can see that Cambodians are a long way to go to reach a state where people can debate ideas without holding grudges, hatred and personally attacking each other.
The way the debate is done on this site actually reflects very well the condition on the ground in Cambodia. Cambodians are just too good at tearing each other apart, but are still much clumsy when it comes to fighting the real ennemies!
We have continuously lost our territory because we fight very well among ourselves; we join former ennemy just to eliminate new ennemy that comes onto the scene and holding grudge and taking revenge are traits in our genetic make-up.
We fight among ourselves each other the banner of patriotism and nationalism.
Sihanouk, Lon Nol, Pol Pot, Hun Sen, Norodom Ranarridh, Sam Rainsy and Kem Sokha all have their supporters. They all hate one another and somehow cannot work together and everyone is fighting in the name of protecting Cambodian interests!
If the Thais are willing to help now to topple Hun Sen, I can assure there are those that would rush to get that support even at the cost of losing Preah Vihear Temple!
Go on brothers and sisters. Let us all tear each other apart until we all become refugees in our ancestral land!

Wow, another great round of debates. But I'm disappointed that we attack one another instead of sticking with the topics of the debate. There's seem to be a personal vendetta against another person if one does not agree with. There's seem to be alot of hostilities toward one another. As a fellow blogger I want nothing more than to have an intelligent conversation with another rational person. It does not matter what level of education a person has. It does not make him/her a lesser person than you and I. I'm a deeply sadden that we are still using personal attack and charracter assassination against one another. Please leave these things out. It's ok for us to disagree. We're not robots. What I'm asking us to do is to write something with well thought research and substantial evidence to back your points. Anybody can spit out a one-liner sarcastic comments and walk away. I'm not a moderator nor do I work for Khmerization or KI media. importance,and arouses his resentment.Let's realize that the
person some people are going to correct and condemn will probably
justify himself,and condemn us back.

Criticizing another person's arguments or view points are ok and necessary for progress and innovations so long as you do within a certain parameter. As long as that person is rational not necessary educated. Just rational and reasonable person. When people takes thing personally, it definitely hinder the ability to think clearly and make good decision. And if that person insists on attacking you with despicable words and morally abhorrent, then it's his/her problems not you. Avoid personal attack. Let me end with a great quote from a famous African American name Frederick Douglass who gave a very moving speech at the "West India Emancipation" at Canandaigua, New York, on the twenty-third anniversary of the event."If There Is No Struggle, There Is No Progress." We want to see Mr Sam Rainsy act as he said to sue PM Hun Sen in every democracy Countries court of justice around the world.

There are many in France, US and elsewhere knew exactly who is Ly Diep. He was Ly Ngoc Dinh, entered Cambodia at 10 to join with his uncle in Kg Thom (Yuon community). He received an engineer degree in the US but this Yuon origin has never worked in his life and who paid him? Go figure.
Still some Khmers with decent degrees like Kiri Tith and a few of his crowed admire this little class Ly Diep as something after Ly Diep hijacked Khmer Angkor Borei from a crazy smug Soth Polin.
In France when Ly Diep came to visit and after he left they gathered and laughed behind "This Yuon die hard thinks we don't know who he is.." When this Yuon agent Ly Diep was with them they were just OK Bong or this and that with him but after he left France back to the US, all of them just went laughing so loud.
Ly Diep has nothing to do to get paid by Hanoi besides writing this and that even if he is not qualified to be a journalist. He is like somebody said a "joynalist".
We all hope that China will nuke ah Yuon our from the planet soon, so ah Ly Ngoc Dinh can be choked.

Dr. Gaffar is so modest, a quiet intelligent and a peaceful man. As a minority under Khmer and Yuon he chose to stay silent, good for him. Hopefully he would not be fallen into Yuon tricks like his ancestors PO Rome who thought Yuon would help Champa. Hope he realized that Ly Diep is Yuon and this Yuon nastiness does not threat his wisdom and intelligence.
