Good decision!
Better care for losses to Viet Nam.
Most of the Khmer people thought Thai invaded CAMBODIA.
How about the Viet, what are they doing in Cambodia?
Which country is taken over Cambodia right now?
Why Cambodian are so blind, deaf, and scare by the CPP and Vietnamese rules?
Why are Cambodian always complaining about the Thai invasion but never mentions about the Viet take over Cambodia?
Because Thais are stupid. If Thais are smart, they would help Cambodia to kick Vietnam ass.
Thais don't understand that once Cambodia is annexed by Vietnam, Thailand will be next!
Simple answer all Cambodian people like to live as slavery. They teach their children not to be dare or brave, take care their life even though they are slave.
Cambodian people are nowaday scare of dying they don't want to be hero, their moto is live as slave better than die try to protect their Country from Vietnam or CPP.
CPP and Hun Sen know these very well.
It would be interesting to see how this Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) is mapped in relations to the Franco-Siamese boundary line of 1904/1907 and Thailand's unilateral map.
This DMZ is primarily one of the indications of provisional (temporary) measures by the Court to prevent further damages being done to the Temple as a result of military activities in the area pending its clarification of the 1962 verdict which will spell out the Court's stance on the boundary issue one way or another.
If Thai troops are not in the DMZ, there is no need for Cambodia to station military personnel within that zone either, except security personnel required to safeguard tourists and visitors to the Temple.
It is a positive sign for Cambodia that the Court unanimously rejected the request by Thailand that Cambodia's case be removed from the General List. This appears to indicate that the Court clearly believes it has a mandate to help resolve disputes between states and also an obligation under its relevant Statutes to clarify or reinterpret its 1962 ruling. Its decision is also final and not subject to further appeal.
This decision on provisional measures may fall somewhat short of what Cambodia seeks from the ICJ, but its effect is to pile more pressure on Thailand to face up to its responsibility before the international community whilst giving the Khmer temple of Preah Vihear the best possible chance to be spared from any more irreparable damage until the Court's next pronouncement (assuming that is, Thailand and Cambodia both comply with the indications made by the Court).
Had the Court instead indicated that Cambodia could station her military personnel within her 1907 boundary including having troops at the Temple ground or its immediate vicinity, the Thais would then be under no real pressure to refrain from firing or shelling in the direction of the Temple complex, inflicting further damages to the site under their pretext of due self-defence! Cambodia also has nothing to gain from engaging in military confrontations with Thailand provided Cambodian sovereignty remains free from Thai military or political occupation.
Note: the Temple site falls just inside the DMZ. This does not mean that the Court has acceded to Thailand's dispute claim over the area surrounding (or underneath!) the Temple because it had already ruled once that the Temple located on Cambodian sovereignty.
Of course, not being a legal specialist myself, it would be interesting to hear better informed opinions on this subject.

Excellent decision by the ICJ. Cambodia can develop the temple as tourist site with the help from WHC. On top of it the ASEAN observers will be on the new DMZ assuring stability and peace needed for the protection of Preah Vihear and develop it as the true world heritage. Pending the final decision on the demarcating border line, people on both side of the border can breathe peacefully. That's human right in itself! For the Viet, yes I don't think that we can recover 100% of our territory (181035 square km), but neither do I think that HS can do more than Pol Pot or Lon Nol in 1970. For the time being, it is already a victory if we can preserve what we get right now. It is good to talk about taking KKrom or Koh Tral as political tool. But walk the talk could not be that easy. Maybe with economic development and the next educated Khmers of the next generation, our wishes may have a better chance to fulfill

it is provisional dmz. the 1907 map is what the court will look into next as that was the official map, not thailand's unilateral map to make up dispute with cambodia, you know!

ps: the court is not based on emotion of the human beings, it is based on the rule of law i.e. the law, the existing law, that is.
The International Court of Justice must also rule on the Vietnamese encroachment into the Eastern part of Cambodia as well.
3:48am, to answer your concern, have in place a strong immigration law in cambodia! that should alleviate our khmer concern for illegal viet/youn encrouchment on the eastern side, ok! do it by rule of law is best for cambodia and smart and clever, too, you know!

That's a good idea, but impossible with CPP government, since they are just a puppet government controlled by Vietnam, and there are a lot of Vietnamese people / agents in the CPP and current Cambodian Government.
Your idea will be effective if we have a new independent and sovereign govrnment.

I take my hat off for all Cambodia's Political Parties and people that care about Cambodia, its people, its future, its sovereignty, its teritorial integrity, its overall developments Cambodia wide, its stopping of all forests destructions, its illigal land concessions to overseas interests, or Cambodian front companies acting for overseas' interests that cause the evictions of Cambodia's farmers Cambodiawide, the deforestations of Cambodia, its poverty reduction Cambodia wide, its fight against corruption and its full implentation of the 1991 Paris Peace Agreements, its controle of illigal immigrants, and the cancellation of the visa free arrangement to stop the influx illigal immigrants into Cambodia.
