Cambodian government has asked Thailand to return the remaining artifacts stolen from Cambodia in 2000, a senior government official said Saturday.
Him Chhem, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts, said he had asked Sompong Sanguanbun, Thai Ambassador to Cambodia, to process the remaining artifacts back to Cambodia.
In 2000, Thai authorities seized 43 pieces of artifacts stolen from Cambodia, and following the request from the Cambodian government seven pieces of them were already returned to Cambodia in 2009.
The 7 pieces of artifacts were handed over by then Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva during his one-day official visit to Cambodia.
Him Chhem said he had made the request, for returning the remaining of 36 artifacts, to Thai ambassador during a meeting on Thursday in Phnom Penh.
According to Him Chhem, Sompong Sanguanbun responded that he would convey Cambodia's request to his government in Bangkok.
The Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts has earlier said, in addition to, the 43 stolen pieces of artifacts bounded for Thailand, at least 5 other pieces were stolen and smuggled to Switzerland and another piece to Indonesia.

Thailand would have returned all of these stolen artifacts to Cambodia if Cambodia competed in Miss.Universe like Thailand does every year!! Cambodia chose to be unknown and extinct from the rest of the world!!

For this one request for Thailand to return all the remaining stolen artifacts to Cambodia, I would give the Hun Sen government a congratulation and a good mark with an encouragement that it works to improve the lives of Cambodians by cutting down on corruption and narrowing the gap between the rich and the poor.
You will get my good mark if you are doing the right things for Cambodia and in the same manner a very bad mark and harsh criticism if your government is not up to its task of building and protecting Cambodia.

I notice Ministry of info.have still very low info. to way out world as well as Ministry of foreign affair. Temple preah vihear is not new issue, so govt have to solve thru ICJ coz if i cannot solve this time, siem still invade by disagreement with khmer. we should keep issue untill it was solved by ICJ

That is the right thing to do; also artifacts were stolen from Preah Vihear which never been returned per order from the World Court to do so.

One of KI-Media member who has his name in Facebook as Khmer Sovannaphumi but his real name is Pang Sokheoun, former political asylum and now living in Sweden. He always copies news from here to post in his facebook profile to promote himself, but right now, he tries to removed and blocked anyone who dares to reveal his con activity particular he tries to hide what he has cheated his wife (Sreypov Chea) by having a girlfriend (Sokunthear Som) behind his wife back. Now, his girlfriend had ran way from him after she knew his cheating.
A con man Pang Sokhoeun as well as KI-Media like to insult to the government officers who have affairs, but himself does even worse than other people. What a shame!
