LAHORE: The first Honorary Consul General of Cambodia in Pakistan, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, has said that the Pakistan-Cambodia Business Council will soon be established for cooperation between both the countries.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the Cambodian Consulate in Pakistan here on Sunday, he said that he wanted to see both countries rise and grow to great economic fronts and hoped that the consulate would be a milestone in achieving the goal. Punjab Governor Latif Khosa, PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat, Senior Federal Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, Shafey Hussain and Haris Elahi were also present.
Salik Hussain said that Cambodia had a special relevance for Pakistan in more than one context. He said Cambodia had already gone through turmoil after the Vietnam War 30 years ago, similar to our own experiences with reference to Afghanistan, Cambodia has embarked on a successful path of peace, reconciliation and progress. He said Cambodia was part of ASEAN - Association of South East Asian Nations, which included one of the worldís fastest and most promising economic growth regions in the world, along with China.
