A CHINESE delegation including one of China’s top leaders will arrive in the capital today to discuss economics and national development with Cambodian People’s Party and Funcinpec Party members. Zhou Yongkang, a member of China’s Politburo Standing Committee, will help “enhance cooperation between the Communist Party of China and parties in Cambodia”, said Chinese Embassy Yang Tianyue. Funcinpec President Keo Puth Rasmey said the visit of about 50 senior Chinese leaders would last August 20-23. “We will discuss the partys’ political issues, economic and national development issues, as well as share experience and strengthen our relationship,” Keo Puth Rasmey said.

Mr. Zhou Yongkang should also meet with the largest Cambodian Opposition Party, Sam Rainsy Party, and discuss with the ruling CPP about the safe return of Mr. Sam Rainsy to Cambodia to contest the coming Cambodian Elections in 2012 and 2013.

I agree with you completely, without China,Cambodia was finished long time ago, so it is good that the oppositions parties in Cambodia see the importance of China regarding the protection of our independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity from our neighbouring countries.
China's growing importance to Cambodia and the world can't be ignored.

America still matters in this world, and so is China.
So all Cambodian political parties or politicians must learn how to work with the two world powers while steadfastly representing our Cambodian national interests, national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
We Cambodia can be friends with both powers, and should be.
How do these people know about communist China visits Hun Sen? Follow the geopolitics, Folks and do not guess like you know everything about the fight between China and US.
I used to read people wrote "Oh China invaded Vietnam because China was mad at Vietnamese invaded Cambodia..or Oh China wanted to protect Pol Pot, etc.."
No not like that at all. The State department released a top secret document and said that China & US became friends fought against the Soviet Unions. Instead of fighting the Soviet directly the two US & China went to punish a small country Vietnam instead. Deng visited carter at Washington and promised to teach VietNam a lesson, and Carter told Deng not to stay long in Vietnam. Because he'd be condemned if many million Viets die during China invasion.
Now China fight US, but still they do business together. China may want Hun Sen to support her while Rainsy supports the US following the Tibet issue. Or China may want Hun Sen to help Thaksin sister so Thaksin can return to power. If Thaksin returns, the US will lose.
Mr. Zhou Yongkang, please help Cambodia defend its sovereingty, independence and territorial integrity and keep a very close watch on what Hanoi is doing in Cambodia.
