You are probably not old enough to remember what happened between the 1970's to the present. Otherwise you will be fair in your comparison between Sihanouk and Lon Nol. What both men did in their private life I don't care. What I care about is how their leadership affect the country and its people as a whole. To make the story short, Lon Nol defended Cambodia against the Khmer Rouge and the Viets whereas Sihanouk collaborated with the Viets to invade Cambodia. He was used politically by both the Viets and Khmer Rouge for their different agenda. His siding with the Viets and the Khmer Rouge led to the downfall of Lon Nol regime which led to the killing of approximatelyh 2M Khmer committed by the Khmer Rouge. Sihanouk was the root cause of today's Cambodia. The sacrifice of 2M Cambodian's life and what we are going through until now is not easy to forget and forgive. He was responsible for what happened and yet, he never expressed remorseful a bit for what he did. In fact, his excuse was: "Not even 2M khmers were killed his children and grand children were killed too". Never in the world the king killed his own people to recover back the power and continued to killed his people to revenge his people even after victory.

I cannot believe that some people condone the king who drawed his country into civil war just so he can keep his throne. The war, which initially between the Viets (supported by Sihanouk) and Lon Nol regime and later turned into civil war between Khmer Rouge,led by Sihanouk, and Lon Nol regime cost about half million Khmer lives. 2 Millions more lives lost after Khmer Rouge victory. So for revenge the king can do anything, including destroying his own kingdom. Now Khmers and the king don't have a country to call home anymore as it now belongs Viets. The king can say only bye-bye Kaun Chau (my Children/my grand children) from China.
How can you say, now Khmers don't have a country to call home anymore???

You are dreaming if you think that the Viets would let khmers go. Ho Chi Minh plan was to form an Indochina federation which comprised of Vietnam, Lao, and Cambodia. If you look at most of your lawmakers and generals now they speak khmers but they are not really Khmers or if they are they served Viets interest instead. Viets dictate everything. Hun Sen is just a surrogate of the Viets. The Viets are smart. They tricked the world into believing that Cambodia is a souvereign, independent country but in reality it's not. If you don't believe try to provoke a fight with Vietnamese immigrants. Who do you think the Khmer authority will side with? More than likely it's not you if you are Khmer. Another analogy when you say something bad openly about the viets, I guarantee that you will be landed in jail without fail. Only ignorant people believe that Khmer people truly have genuine freedom.

One of KI-Media member who has his name in Facebook as Khmer Sovannaphumi but his real name is Pang Sokhoeun, former political asylum and now living in Sweden. He always copies news from here to post in his facebook profile to promote himself, but right now, he tries to removed and blocked anyone who dares to reveal his con activity particular he tries to hide what he has cheated his wife (Sreypov Chea) by having a girlfriend (Sokunthear Sam) behind his wife back. Now, his girlfriend had ran way from him after she knew his cheating.
A con man Pang Sokhoeun as well as KI-Media like to insult to the government officers who have affairs, but himself does even worse than other people. What a shame!

Is is called "divide & conquer".
The Annamese have this same strategy since in Ngoc Van became Jayajetta II's wife 1600's. After Jayajette II died, Ngoc Van was be able to influence the Khmer court.
She embraced group I of Khmers to against group II of Khmers, then behind she embraced the group II of Khmers to fight the group I of Khmers. Khmers fell into a civil war, finally the Annamese were able to destroy Khmer souls and Khmer kingdom ever since until today.
What you see here is a same trait of the past.
Beware, who embrace Ly Diep like William could be Ly Diep and the Annamese themselves.
Ngoc Van did not kill Khmers by her own hands but she made them killed each others the same as is today including in Khmer Rouge regime.
If real Khmers do not put aside this past and fight for the future, the death of Khmer nation will be forever lost. Unlike Khmers the Annmese while under Chinese ruled were able to free themselves because they united in spite of their differences.
Ly diep is the same as his Annamese people. He uses the same strategy as his Annamese have always done.
There are million Annamese who use Khmer identities and speak fluently Khmers, so real Khmers have to stay alert. Some posters in here who keep following ly diep with this same story forgetting to move on fight for the future, they are Annamese, or serve Annamese not Khmers.
"William" displays similar character to Ngoc Van, his ancestor who did destroy Khmers' unity. This "William" is no friend of Khmers either.

50 years old is still very young. My parents both are 60 years old and they have not yet retired. Said that their retirements are not enough to live in today bad economy.
I am working so hard and save every dime I have earned so I won't have to face troubles so much like my parents are now.
Thing is getting worse, and China threats to abandon US dollars by using only her Yuan currency. The European nations are also very bad shape, they keep laying off their employees.
Sooner or later this world has only Ly Ngoc Dinh/Diep and his decoy William who still have jobs without working a single day but cursing.
By the way, no one of us know where will be going after our deaths. Born again as insects or animals or trees or humans. Don't worry, Hell or Heaven are the places for us the living things will land on. This person who cursed you seems to be suffering in real life, since cursing is not taught by God or Buddha.

From one generation to another Khmers like to paint one another when one have different point of view. In Sihanouk era, he killed so many khmers he painted as Khmer Blue (Preap In, Sao Nguy etc...). In Pol Pot era, 2M khmers were killed as they painted as counter revolution behavior. In Hun Sen era, grenade were thrown at the protesters just because they demanded justice and they are painted as trouble makers by Hun Sen. So we, Khmers, are good at killing Khmer ourselves while facing with foreigners who invade our country we are just chicken.

I'm touched by what you said and share your concerns. With today's uncertainty about the economy we cannot predict what whould happen in the future. I feel sorry for some old people, especially Khmer immigrants who have to work hard, long hours just to earn money to put food on the table. As for me, I consider myself lucky as I work for the same company for almost 30 years since I arrived in the US in 1980 with the 1st 15 years as an accountant and the rest as Computer programmer. I live on company pension while my wife is still working. Couple with paid off house and debt free, I can live comfortably on a fixed income. What today's economy will affect my lifestyle in the future I don't know, but so far I am OK. However, I still worry about my future as you and your parent do.

You brought me into this painting subject. Painting each others is a biggest problem. That was the reason the enemy like Vietnamese could perform and operate their strategies effectively in your community.
For many years I have observed, the way some have routinely displayed the same attack from Angkr Borei is not about how to help your community, but to destroy even further.
I read the history of Khmers through Dutch old memoirs in
1600's that the Vietnamese prinncess from Nguyen was the one who engineered all the problems in the Kingdom. Siding with the Khmer princes (her bio sons) to fight against the King, then siding with the king to fight the princes. She urged botg sides to ask for helps from the Vietnamese King (Nguyens), and when they entered Cambodia, they invaded and killed.
Angkor Boei is not a group helping your people but a divider.
I listen to khmer radio everyday in the khmer history since the start of srok khmer by the khmer borne with french citizen the khmer ROLEAY because of khmer KINGS SOLE ,they are power greed fighting with their families for the throne.They searched for help from Thai and Vietnam and shed the land to the helpers not from the painting.
For example SIHAKNUK fight with his mother for mee youn wife Monique,with cousin Sirimatak and ask youn to help(1970 Youen viet wear the Sihaknuk face on their heads to fight khmers ,why is youn win.

I'm not Ly Diep supporter and nor did I ever read Angkor Borey News but, I think he is within his rights to publish the translation of interview between Sihanouk and PlayBoy magazine. Ly Diep did not frame or slander Sihanouk nor did he inflate the interview to defame Sihanouk in any way. With today's technology you cannot shut him up just because you don't want to hear what he says. Besides, being in a free country he did nothing illigal. Divide and conquer??? I don't think so. Khmers are known for division since Angkor era up to now, Otherwise our country would not be this small today. Communities wide, we are even more division. Look at Long Beach, Dallas, Houston etc... Do you think we are unified? Khmers division is hitting the breaking point now even without Ly Diep. America is a free country and we cannot treat him the same way as if he was in Cambodia. Free country guarantee people freedom of choice. People can choose to believe or not it's up to them. Be in a free country adapt yourself to free country. Communism has no room in America.

When one person had posted in KI-Media and accused that a con man Pang Sokhoeun is a brother of Som Ek (former Chief of Tiger's head sign guerilla, who was arrested and put in prison by Cambodian government) during that time, a cheater Pang Sokhoeun came to deny in his blogs immediately and had pointed the blame to Mr. Sourn Serey Rotha, but this time, he has bury his head in the sand because he cannot deny the truth that he has cheated his wife.
