Overworked maid claims she was forced to clean two houses every day

SENTUL: A maid from Cambodia, who was allegedly abused by a family of three, was reportedly forced to work about 17 hours a day to clean two houses.
She told police she would first finish chores at her employer's apartment in Segambut before heading out to clean his second house in Sungai Buloh.
Sentul deputy police chief Supt Othman Abu Bakar said the maid, Neak Bau, 25, worked from 8am till 8pm at the apartment and then sent to the second house to work from 8pm till 1am the next day.
"Neak said it was her daily routine to clean the two houses resulting in her lack of rest."
The maid alleged the family of three — a 52-year-old single dad and his two daughters, aged 20 and 23 — were all involved in assaulting her.
Othman said the daughters had chopped off Neak's hair because she allegedly had kutu (lice).
"This went against Neak's wishes but she had no control over it," Othman said.
Neak had been working for her employer since May last year.
Police are investigating if she was abused since then.
While the maid's face was found to be swollen, police are waiting for a full medical report to see if there are further injuries on other parts of her body.
On Wednesday afternoon, police sprung into action at the Segambut apartment after the Women's Aid Organisation (WAO) tipped them off about the alleged abuse.
Police rescued the Cambodian maid and arrested the trio.
The police were told the WAO had received a call from the trio's neighbour claiming they had heard the maid screaming for help.
The maid claimed she had been kicked and hit with a back scratcher.
The trio are remanded until next Wednesday to facilitate investigations. The maid is temporarily staying at a WAO shelter.

We need to start more semi-state owned companies to employ our younger graduates and jobless peoples instead of sending them overseas to get abused.
Maid job is not meant for export labor but for domestic labor!
What does AH HUN SEN has to say in all of these matter regard the maid slave labor! AH HUN SEN is part of the fucken problem because it is his government that allow the abuse on these Cambodian women to go on and on! Why AH HUN SEN don't shut down of those agencies that continue to export Cambodian maids to be killed and to be abused like animal…?
Cambodian maid is new comer to the maid business and these Cambodian women have so much to learn from Philippine women! Their horror story will shock any Cambodian maid!

instead of sending people to work as maid in another country, the khmer government should create work in cambodia. cambodia has lots of farmland. let lease land to farmers to produce their own foods. tonle sap had so much fish to import to another country, should be jobs there. let just move all those aliens who live along tonle sap, stop all pollution and start create for khmer's own use.
2:25 you don't know what you're talking about. Maid job is not only domestic job. The maids are export from one country to another all over the world. Filipino, Indonesian, and others are sent to Middle East and everywhere. Even Thais were sent to work in Dubai. Indians are going to work in U.S,Mexicans crossed the border to find jobs in U.S, and on and on. The laborers will go to another country to find a job with higher wage. This is noting new and not only limited to Cambodian. Can you look in Buddha's eyes and say that more Cambodians go to work in another country more than Mexicans?
Before 1960,Khmer people sent their
abroad to study some countries in
the world.
Since 1970 Cambodians went to foreign countries because of the
civil war.In 1975 they had more
of them escaped Khmer Rouge and
got more killed.
The year of 1979,they fled more
than one million to Thailand went
to the third world because of
Khmer Vietminh,Khmer Rouge,and
Vietnam soldiers.
Starting from 1979 up today,
Cambodians are moving out of
their own country to be maids or
slave labors perhaps 20 countries
around the world.
Why?Because 6,000,000 Vietnamese
illegal immigrants are flowing in
and taking their lands and their jobs.
Now Cambodians are poor,sick,and
lacking of food.
So,Cambodians will continue to
flee their own country to work as
slave labors in foreign countries.
