A US$28 million warehouse, in which Hun Sen’s bodyguard unit will store its tanks and military vehicles, was opened yesterday.
Hundreds of high-ranking military officials attended the official inauguration of the storehouse in Takhmao town in Kandal province yesterday, with the head of the bodyguard unit vowing to support Hun Sen in the 2013 elections and ensure the safety of his family.
“We are all determined to ensure the safety of Prime Minister Hun Sen,” said Hing Bunheang yesterday.
He added that tanks, armoured vehicles and other military equipment would be stored at the warehouse thanks to donations from tycoons and the governments of Vietnam, China and Korea.
Official statistics detailing the number of bodyguards is not available. But a participant in the inauguration, who did not want to be named, said yesterday that hundreds of tanks and armoured vehicles were being kept at the store.
The strength of the unit has drawn criticism from opposition parties.
Yim Sovann, a lawmaker from the opposition Sam Rainsy Party, said: “I have never seen country leaders in the world have as many bodyguards surrounding themselves as has Hun Sen.”
“I think that spending the national budget to support many bodyguards would impact the living conditions of the poor and create more corruption in the country,” he added.

Why does Hun Sen need a large army of bodyguards, because he is scared of his own countrymen? He knows that he has done a lot of wrong to the people and he is hated and worried.
There are some smart people among his bodyguards, and one day in the near future Hun Sen will die because of them. For now they are just haii oeu haii oeu ah chey thlaak toeuk.
Hun Sen, for now your bodyguards pledge to protect you. But when the tide turns against you, they are the very first one to castrate you, ok ah pleu. Currently you live on a borrowed time.

Since the US is broke sure Americans want dollars so they wrote papers for him, and his name is Hun Manet. None of their children studied hard but money and power they all got degrees. How long something like these are going to end?

Hun Sen threatens that there will be instability and even civil war; if the situation does not go the way he wants. He has these bodyguard units to prove it.
So the instability and civil war will come from Hun Sen’s making through his personal army. They are the source of the instability and civil war.
It was the same way after March 1970 when Sihanouk was overthrown; the civil war came to Cambodia from Sihanouk making the call from Beijing.
The history is about to repeat itself, but after another civil who know what will happen to Cambodia. And Hun Sen knows it very well, but his thinking is if I, Hun Sen, goes down the whole Cambodia go down with me.

Isn't "mean tei anh" is for every Khmer? Event the moto doup person -- had claim the same "mean tei anh". And if you happen to listen to any Khmer men/women when they talk, they always like to say, "I know everything, don't need to tell me" mentality!
Hun Sen' behavior reflect the Khmer population mentality. I am sure that anybody else that would sit in the same place as Mr. Sen would definitely claim "mean tei anh" the same, that include the King father, Prince Ranariddh, Kem Soka, and of Mr. Rainsy, etc...
So anything else news that we haven't know about Khmer mentality! One might need to read the article that Dr. Peang-Meth just post about Khmer!

it seemed like it's a waste of money; however, maybe it's necessary to protect elected official given there are violent people and unruly people out there wanted to hurt officials, etc... if we look all around the world, every vip or elected person all have some form of bodyguards, etc... even the president of the US have many bodyguards or secret service agency as they called them, so it makes sense for cambodia to have one too for the leaders, i think! this kind of safety for leaders is not unique to cambodia, it's required by law all over the world, you know! so, for me, it's not a big deal at all, really!
The more Hun Sen possesses bodyguard the more he gets so many risks to himself .Who said ,maybe one day one of these bodyguard would be bought from other high ranking in order to shoot him down .For this moment ,and that still he has money and power the best solution for Hun sen is to take a retire and immigrate to China ,Vietnam or Arab Saudi or nord korea ect ,so it is better than waiting until he got killed or persecuting. because around the world there are no any leaders could be in power for life .If he quick for this moment , he still have a lot of chances to save his wealth and family . That is just HUN SEN or CPP tactics to ensure that if or when they going to lost election or something happens with People Power matching to remove him he will use all of these to fight the opposition.
This is just lame to create a group that ready to fight anyone for a certain individual.
This is a sign of paranoid Hun Sen.
All Khmer compatriots and Khmer patriots, make sure to do the right things to protect our Khmer Land Cambodia from being lost forever.
We can be different, but we must be united as one for our Khmer cause of national liberation and national salvation.
Remember, we are descendants of Khmer Ankor, and we will never let any body, any country walk all over us.
AH HUN SEN favors big government with big body guard unit! What does this mean for dirt poor Cambodian population? It mean that dirt poor Cambodian people will pay more in everything from gasoline, rice, and bread because AH HUN SEN big government will tax them to death to maintain his big government!
Cambodia will be the same dirt poor country and Cambodian people will always the victims of AH HUN SEN misguided policy! Even after 30 years and AH HUN SEN fail to learn!

This is a good idea to store all tanks and weapons in one building. Now we know the enemy only needs one bomb and no need to run around the country looking under every tree to find them.

We Khmer should not fight each other, we Khmer have a duty to look after each other and to protect each other when necessary.
Hun Manet is a good man.
He also has a duty to salvage Cambodia in whatever capacity he can. All Khmers everywhere have a duty to help our beloved country Cambodia, there is room for every Khmer to make a contribution to our country Cambodia.
