KUALA LUMPUR - The Cambodian maid rescued from a house in Taman Sri Sinar, Segambut, on Wednesday was not only abused by her employer but was also forced to work 17 hours at two different locations.

Police investigations revealed that the 25-year-old woman, identified as Neak Ban, was also given only one meal a day.

Sentul deputy police chief Superintendent Othman Abu Bakar said three suspects -- a 52-year-old man and his two daughters, aged 20 and 23 -- were arrested at their house on Wednesday.

"Initial investigations revealed that the victim who started work in May last year, had to work from 8am to 6pm at the house in Taman Sri Sinar, before she was taken to Sungai Buloh to continue until 1am."

Apart from being overworked, Othman said the victim claimed she was not well fed and constantly assaulted by all three.

"She said her employers used to slap, punch and beat her, sometimes even using high-heeled shoes and sticks."

He added that Neak Ban's hands, face, ears and her right eye were badly bruised when they rescued her. Police also found old scars on her, believed to be marks from earlier assaults.

He said the victim was currently being looked after by the Women's Aid Organisation.

"We are now waiting for the victim's medical report before proceeding further in the investigations."

The remand order on the three suspects ends today.

Khmers believe working abroad or living abroad is much easier than inside Cambodia. Parents are anxious to have their daughter marry to foreigners or people living abroad thinking that they will become rich and send the money back home to support them. Contrary to their belief, many fell into hardships that are much greater than living back home with their parents. This is just like pushing their children into hell. Their children don't want to disappoint them so they hide their abuse, overworked, and all kind of miseries from their parents. Their parents think living abroad is heaven when in fact most conditions are hell. Greater hell than Cambodia. No happiness except working non-stop.

Hi Everyone,

One of KI-Media member who has his name in Facebook as Khmer Sovannaphumi but his real name is Pang Sokheoun, former political asylum and now living in Sweden. He always copies news from here to post in his facebook profile to promote himself, but right now, he tries to removed and blocked anyone who dares to reveal his con activity particular he tries to hide what he has cheated his wife (Sreypov Chea) by having a girlfriend (Sokunthear Som) behind his wife back. Now, his girlfriend had ran way from him after she knew his cheating.

A con man Pang Sokhoeun as well as KI-Media like to insult to the government officers who have affairs, but himself does even worse than other people. What a shame!

To avoid other people to expose more about Pang Sokhoeun's affair, he has agreed with my suggestion not allow other people outside to comment as before. From now, only friends in his list can comment in his wall.
