STATEMENT BY THE SUPREME COURT CHAMBER
The Supreme Court Chamber in the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC)makes the following statement for the purpose of keeping the general public informed about its workon the appeal judgment in Case 001.
The Supreme Court Chamber was constituted in January 2011 and it is currently seised of appealsfrom the Accused, Co-Prosecutors and Civil Parties against the judgment of the Trial Chamber in Case 001. Concurrently, the Supreme Court Chamber has also been disposing of immediate appealsin Case 002. Following the close of written and oral submissions from the parties in Case 001 at theend of March 2011, the appeals in Case 001 remain under judicial consideration. The Chamber endeavours to issue the appeal judgment in Case 001 later this year, and the public will be informedabout the date of pronouncement of the judgment as soon as it is determined.
