The Khmer Post needs your help - An appeal by Khmer Unity for Cambodia (KUC)

Dear All,

Mr. Sovannara Meach, Director and Founder of KPR, talked to us asking for financial support from everyone including KUC members who might be able to support KPR to pay for the Satellite Broadcasting directly from USA to Cambodia and Khmer Krom, Khmer Leur. The cost of 3 hours a week starting September 14,2011 is $200/hour or $600/week or $2400/month. A Business man in Chicago agreed to pay for the 1st month fee of $2400.

This broadcasting to our homeland is vital to let all people who live in Cambodia to hear the truth of the problems we have in Cambodia. Since many Cambodians only hear the news from the CTN and the TV stations who only talked highly about the current government(besides Radio Sambok Khmum), it is time that they should know the real truth that we have heard from the Khmer Post Radio on the computers.

In August, 2011, I and my husband went the do the networking for KUC in Long Beach, San Jose, Fresno, San Diego. We had a chance to visit twice Mr Sonnnara Meach, his wife and his 3 lovely daughters at their 2 bedrooms( 1 bedrom is occupied by a relative),1 bath rented house in Long Beach. Before the visit, we have heard rumors about Mr. Sovannara's possible income from Mr. Hun Sen, CIA or US government. I asked Mr Sovannara about the rumors which he denied all of them and that he said he has got some income from donations from the KPR listeners and the advertisement on Khmer Post newspapers and that all his trips were paid by the people who invited him to their function. We believe that Mr. Sovannara really needs the financial supports from all of us and Khmers around the world in order for him to continue to provide the free services in radio broadcasting and newpapers especially the satellite broadcasting.

I realize that it has been a hard time for all of us due to the poor economy, the recession and for the expenses paid by some of KUC members who travelled to California conference in June and in August for the KUC networking especially for the future expense for attending the National Conference in Washington in the coming October 21 to 23,2011. But to assist the KPR broadcasting to Cambodia by AM radio is very urgent and very crucial for our people in Cambodia to know about all the problems in Cambodia and hopefully for Khmers inside and outside of Cambodia to work together to SAVE OUR MOTHERLAND FROM THE INVASION OF THE VIETNAMESES.

Having said all the above, I pledge to all of you to reach deeper into your pockets, your heart or to skip your family lunch or dinner out once a month and to send that money( credit card is accepted) to KPR to support the expenses especially for the satellite Broadcasting either $5, $10, $20, $30....$50, $100 or more per month.

Please send Mr Sovannara Meach the donation to the address on the KPR website if you are able and willing to donate to KPR . The website is thekhmerpost.com. Thank you all in advance.

May Buddha and God bless Cambodia, all of you and your Family.

Sue

KPR,

As a Khmer, I found that your radio has instilled the spirit of nationalism among our Khmer people.

KPR's staffs, especially Mr. Meach Sovannara are truly my hero. Your radio has helped our people so much to grasp the insight of our tragic history, mainly generating by the expansionist Yiekcongs.

I have financially supported your radio before, and I will do it again.

I would like to take this opportunity to exhort to all Khmer nationalists to send the donation regularly to KPR. This PKR is an essential element of our strife to stop the puppet government and its Master from making Cambodia disappear in the world map or making Khmer people a minority in Cambodia in the near future.

PLEASE HELP KHMER POST RADIO !!

Khmer Post Radio should ignore all allegations created by the puppet people to discredit your good deeds by saying that the puppet government has helped KPR, etc...
That is their tactics to cause mistrust among our people. We knew that stupid tricks already

I am positive about the existence of Khmer post. But to say there are ONLY CTN or Bayon etc in Cambodia who speaking highly about the gov is not accurate because there are more.

However there Radio Free Asia, VOA, Radio Australia and French Inter who have been providing alternative news.

What contents that the Khmer Post would broadcast to be more interesting or different to RFA etc?

Khmer post can't even afford live broadcast fee how would it be able to generate contents such as news that is true accurate or reliabe?

It might give a forum to opposition parties to be heard much more in the form of interviews etc but then how sustainable it will be?

I think Khmer Post just copy the idea from other group.

Please put your self interest behind Khmer interest.
When a "Khmer son" put his life on the line to save our motherland, give him support, at least morally.

Abandon the "cheap shot".
Insulting everybody like "Chker Chkuot" is not good.

I personally think KPR has been walking in the fine line to help Cambodia.

I think Mr. Sovannara Meach is an opportnist. People should do a thorough research on him before pouring any financial support. If you look deeper, you will find interesting information... Good luck.

KPR is not neutral and very bias in the report. Whoever have the dough he will say or bark for you. Meach Sovannara have significant others beside his spouse. So, this dude is a joke.

Hun Sen loves Cambodia,

Meach Sovanara should ask Hun sen to help him pay his radio station !
