Auf wiedersehen!

"Thai government grants Khmer people $200,000 in flood assistance whilst hers kingdom under the nature disaster herself. This drawing is tasteless and show how we, Khmer, are ungrateful bunch. KI news media is nothing but a trashy blog and its members are sub-parred copy and paste reporters. I am not a CCP follower but this KI news media is just plain garbage. I am out of here." - Anonymous KI-Media reader

KI-Media Note: It's too bad that this reader left too early because for one thing, had he read our post here, he would have learned that the Thai government provided $100,000 in flood aid to Cambodia, and on the same day, Thailand also provided $100,000 in flood aid to Vietnam as well, thus the erroneous amount indicated by the reader above.

Furthermore, that tasteless cartoon was posted by The Nation, a Thai newspaper.

On a different note, we are glad to learn that you are not part of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) because, otherwise, the CPP followers would have to kowtow you in deep respect.

Well, anonymous friend, as much as we hate to say goodbye, we hope to see you back soon!

Thailand gave Cambodia some money for the flood supply. We can thank Thailand for her good heart to the neighbours and move on.

Living in a modern world and claiming Buddhism as a religion and at the same time calling upon God for help and blessing, Cambodians anywhere in the world should learn to just accept the money or donation and move on with thankful hearts.

Accepting the money does not mean that the giver is superior nor does it mean that the accepter is inferior; in addition, it does not necessarily means either that the giver wants something in return.

Giving simply shows the kindness of human spirit which every religion tries so hard to teach and to promote since man can be so evil to each other.

I believe that many of us or all of us at one point in our lives have given something to those who have much less than us without any desire whatsoever to have anything back in return; we simply give because, as a human being, we have heart, a good heart and that is why it reflects in our act of giving.

Imagine walking on the street and meet a very beautiful young girl who is very poor and yet her beauty shines through her poverty; when a passer-by gives some money to her out of his pity or with a desire to help, should that be judged that he wants some kind of sexual favor? Obviously not!

If one wants to assume, one needs to learn to assume in good faith unless proven otherwise.

Thailand is a much bigger and more powerful neighbour to the west of Cambodia. Like it or not the Thais are in SE Asia to stay and Cambodia can't do anything about it.

A friendly policy and attitude towards them will go a long way and it does not mean that we give in after all; aren't we smart enough to negotiate with them on anything on equal basis using the principles of international laws as a guide?

It is just that our leaders may not be good leaders that we tend to lose in any negotiations or disagreement. Obviously, we, the Cambodians would have done the same if the Vietnamese or the Thais are more stupid than us and allow us to take advantage of the situations in their countries.

Thieves are everywhere and you just can't blame them for stealing your valuable objects if you continue to be careless and mindless about the security of your house and do nothing to prevent it.

Judge or Assume NOT, lest ye be judged or assumed!

For the unknown reader who declares his departure from KI Media, I doubt he goes away. He is still hanging around right now on this blog to see reactions to his silly and immature provocation and to continue to benefit from the news posted here for free after having shown his ingratitude which he knows full well is not what his parents have taught him to have or can be proud of.

Cambodian proverb says quite well that a dog that barks won't bite!
