http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOBjT_UcEdg

Dear All,

The video above is about teaching Khmer in government school in Surin province. However, the school principals have shut down both classes at Phum Si Chruk and Phum Pun, he said Thailand and Cambodia are fighting so he'd better shut down the school.

Thanks

One thing the government cannot and should interfere with is the matter of religion. In Khmer society, Buddhism has always been used as a ground for imparting of knowledge, language and literacy.

But this should not say that non-profit and public venture outside of religion should not be protected for that right to safe-guard indigenous culture.

It would be best, if Cheymonkol is not doing it already, to align himself with the local Khmer Surin wats and buddhist monks to ensure that more children get access to Khmer language education.

Good luck Mr. Monkol, you Khmer Surin children the best!

maybe khmer surin people or khmer leu lived in fear, that's why they forgot how to talk in khmer language. they should never forget their khmer language or they all will turn to siem, but they are khmer people. so, from now on, start learning and talking more in khmer language again, really!

Khmer people abroad sent few thousand
dollars to Chey Mongkol,but after
that he never got in touch with me.

I told him to organize board and
collect money to support his schools.
We,Khmer oversea, want to help him,but he did not help himself.
Since then,he never called me for help.
