PHNOM PENH - The former head of state in Cambodia under the ultra-Maoist Khmer Rouge denied involvement in mass killings under the regime in the 1970s and asked prosecutors on Wednesday why ex-King Norodom Sihanouk was not also in the dock.
The UN-backed court started a case on Monday against Khieu Samphan and two other leaders of the "Killing Fields" regime blamed for the deaths of as many as 2.2 million people, or about a quarter of Cambodia's population, from 1975-1979.
They are charged with crimes against humanity, war crimes and genocide for transforming Cambodia into a mass labor camp where people were executed or died from torture, starvation, disease and overwork.
Paris-educated Khieu Samphan accused the court of re-writing history with "fairy tales" extracted from books and newspapers, and said that as a leader he promoted a communist administration but had no control over those who carried out killings.
"At that time, communism was the one movement that gave hope to millions of youths around the world. What I actually wanted at that time was the best experience for my country," he said.

As I know Sihanouk is the primary key for the Khmer Killing fields in Cambodia. He created the KR and used the Khmer Rouge, Vietcong and north Vietnam army to kill Khmers, in order to maintain as King in the power.
Why?
1. before 1970, my father was lieutenant in Khmer army under Sihanouk. He fought against Vietcong/North Vietnam army and also transported weapons, dedical for them too under Sihanouks command. He said at that time that what Sihanouk did wit communist Vietcong/N. Vietnam was absolutely wrong for Khmer country.
2. between 1970-75, he was Colonel in Lon Nol army and fought against North Vietnam/ Vietcong at Kg. Chham, Chela I/II,Neang Leugn,.... . My parents were shut dead by Khmer Rouge (KH) on 19th April 1975.
3. 1993, during Sihanouk returned back to Phnom Penh, he has promised all Khmer peopel by Radio or Internet that he will go to UN court if the court need him. All Khmers victims need him explain this case why CPP under Vietnam has protedted him does not appear?
Now, I think that what Kiev Samphan has demand to UN, is absolute legal. How long we Khmers must wait this?
i have no doubt sihanoud associated himself with the KR as he was blinded by his power hunger since his ousted from power in the early 1970s. he has no where to go and no political party to associate with so he had to associate himself, using his fame and popularity with khmer people of course, with the KR. so he will be guilty with association. and in his case, it was revenge killing of ex-gov't officials, educated people, intellectual people, etc... all in the mix of things with the stupid KR regime and ideology, you see. i have no doubt sihanouk was involved in all of this. they say pictures tells a thousand words, can't lie, you know! sihanouk was blinded and mistakened by his power ambition to rule cambodia, that's was the problem! now that's he lived to be 90, he's toning down, of course! khmer people knew it too, no doubt about it! he's used anyone and any country to keep his power then, so all outsiders were his proxy, not the other way around, you know! who says khmer leaders like sihanouk can't be evil or vicious? if youn is vicious toward khmer, then khmer was vicious as well, i think, and i'm khmer; i can say this about khmer. don't mistaken think khmer leaders were all innocent and naive and innocent, etc, they are as evil as anybody out there, you know! anyway... do looking into all of them, no bias is allowed in finding the truth in all of this, ok!

The deal between Zhou En-Lai, Pham Vandong and Sihanouk each had its own secret strategy in case one of them cheats. The Vietnamese were very well prepared that was why they're among Pol Pot. They knew that Sihanouk would change and attacked them, but they're superior they beated Sihanouk, Pol Pot all the way. Finally they won and the returned as savior with peasant Khmer Rouge.

1.Sihanouk was Head of State between 1975-1976.

The Communist Party of Kampuchea was a combination of 80 % of former Khmer Viet Minh and 20 % of a Paris students group was created in 1960 by 3 figures as follow:
1. Tou Samouth.

3. Pol Pot.
After 1954 Geneva conference there were about 5000 of Khmer Viet Minh fighters in Cambodia .
About 1000 of these former Khmer Viet Minh went to Hanoi with Son Ngoc Minh or better known as Achar Mean including other Khmer Viet Minh like Pen Sovann.
The rest of 4000 of these former Khmer Viet Minh later joined the Communist Party of Kampuchea through Tou Samouth, Kea Mea , So Phim, Rous Yim and many other Khmer Viet Minh senior military commanders.
So that why from the beginning of the foundation of this Communist Party of Kampuchea or Khmer Rouge there were about 80 % of these former Khmer Viet Minh fighters and senior military commanders
such as Tou Smouth, Keo Meas , So Phim and Rous Yim ect…
After the fall down of Phnom Penh to Khmer Rouge or Communist Party of Kampuchea on April 17, 1975 these former Khmer Viet Minh fighters became the chiefs of villages, communes , districts and Zones like So Phim in Eastern Zone Secretary and Rous Yim in Northern Zone Secretary .
Note:
1. Tou Samouth , So Phim , Rous Yim , played important role in joining all former Khmer Viet Mint fighters into the Communist Party of Kampuchea after the Communist Party of Kampuchea was created in 1960.
2. Nuon Chea Played an important role in joining other former Khmer Issarak like Ta Mok , Ke Pok into the Communist Party of Kampuchea or Khmer Rouge after the Communist Party of Kampuchea was created in 1960.
3. The First name of the Communist Party of Kampuchea was the Kampuchea Worker’s Party and renamed to the Communist Party in 1966 after Tou Samouth was arrested and killed in 1962.
4. Between 1960-1975 Pol Pot troops had increased about 40 % or 45 % especially after 1970s.
Pol Pot solders never train in Hanoi or worked under the command of yuon Viet Minh as majority of former Khmer Viet Minh fighers in the Communist Party of Kampuchea were trained and fought side by side wit yuon Viet Minh during First Indochina War 1946-1954 against French colony in Cambodia.
The founder and the members of the Communist Party of Kampuchea or Khmer Rouge are between 1975-1979 are:
1. Pol Pot the Secretary General of Communist Party of Kampuchea.
2. Nuon Chea duputy Secretary of Communsit Party of Kampuchea.
3. Ieng Sary.
4. So Phim.
5. Son Sen.

Khieu Samphan loved and respect his mother very much.
After his father passed away ( Khieu Samphan father was local judge ) his family was very poor , Khieu Samphan mother sold Prohok in Kompong Cham and sold dried banana ( Chek Ang ) on the street in Phnom Penh during Siahmouk regime.
As s secretary of commerce , Khieu Samphan rode a bycicle to and from work and gave all his salary to his widow mum and as the oldest brother of the family and as the secretary commerce minister of Sihanouk regime after work he helped his mum such as pecked up all the heavy staff after his mum finisned selling Chek Ang every day and look after his mum by looking after breakfast , lunh and dinner and always ask his mum about her health every day before she started her family bussiness by selling Chek Ang on the streent.
Before riding his bycicle to work he always asked his mum's health make sure she feel well before he ( Khieu Smaphan ) let her mum to go and sell Chek Ang and always double checked with his younger brother to look after lunch and dinner for their mum each day routine.

China was not exactly the main fucking problem, but China wanted to use Yuon to terrorize small nations then grab Yuon when Yuon done the job.
Have you seen or heard that Yuon promised to stop expanding their land? If not then their strategies to annihilate Khmers do not stop even though Sihanouk did not exist.

If I go with the US, and the US refused to stop Thailand and South Vietnam from invading Cambodia as the US already did, then I had no other choice but to choose China.

Yuon revolution started since 1900's supported by Thailand and used Thailand as their base, and Yuon were already among Khmers. Ho Chi Minh's god-father Pham Boi Chau declared that Khmers are barbarians and they must be annihilated after he left Japan of his unsuccessful mission.
The French was right that allowing Cambodia to become independent like allowing the Viet Minh to eat Cambodia and it did.
