I found old records from the Dutch's diary said that there're many Khmer mixed with the Dutch(es). The top photo this Khmer woman seemed to have hazel eyes or at least light brown eyes. She sure was more beautiful than Kings of Siam's wives.

The pretty woman from Kg Cham was elegant and very pretty with her long hair.

The top beautiful woman was Madame Pomme Peang's mother or grand mother, I forget. I saw that photo somewhere before and I was told. If that's truth, then she was King Sihamoni's great-great grand mother on his mother side.

The most beautiful Khmer woman is my mistress Sokunthear Sam. That is why I was not hesitated to divorce to my wife Chea Sreypov.

When not the CPP maybe the next government from the opposition will do the same thing.
You can't turn your day backward, better try to do our best to protect our Khmer people and our country.

They're black and white photos with cro-crop hair, the style of the day.

Were these pictures your Viet, Thai or other Orientals, you'll get same impression, "NIGGER" with slanted brows. That's most unfortunate, because black people have pretty nice big eyes and straight brow lines.

Remember: Cambodian/Khmer culture wears Kban. Sarongs were introduced/forced to wear when Thai took controlled of Khmer provinces in the Northeast.

I love to see Khmers wear Khmer outfits for cultural events. The gov't can be a start to reintroduce these original Khmer outfits back to lives. It was great and joyous to see Apsara hair styles was reintroduced during the dance for the King's birthday. I love to see it. I think it is different, beautiful and fun. Khmer Angkor had a very rich and sophisticated culture. I admire them for the depth of their civilization.

i used to hear my grandparents share their stories about how khmer people looked like or dressed like in the old bygone era. now i can see the description that my grandparents told me. according to my grandparents, in the early day when they were young, girls, women, etc all like to keep their hair short, most were. of course, they looked like what we called today as "tom-boy", but that's how people from that era were. you can called that ugly or whatever, it doesn't matter, that's how they were in those days. of course, people and society changed today.

also, about hair style, i think most people's physcial beauty are in their hair style. if we all were to go bald, then we all would look ugly. so, i think the hair help us all to look more attractive. but who am i to judge people from that era of cambodia history. anyway... god bless all.

I agree with 3:46 AM!
There are a lot of beautiful women that are bald. Some are more attractive then other. It takes just the right facial feature to go with baldness.
