I still worry about your health condition. It is every truly that all materials existence is impermanent but health is the greatest gift for us. So, first of all you have to take care of yourself and then your family.

Remember, War does not determine who is right only who is left, and war is a failure of human intelligence. Pichpisey, by Buddha’s power, I hope you will be better and better day by day. May God bless both of you and your family!

Best regards.

Mr. Hun Sen, Have you heard it?
You do not deserve to be prime minister!

You know a person’s behavior by his/her demeanor
You know his/her intelligence by his/her words
You know his/her talents by his/her actions
You know his/her ideas by his/her suggestions.

i listen to you seemms to me that:
1. you are abit stupid to do so for just such a reason and i this is not a problem at all since Norway is a nice country and problem is always listened to and sovled accordingly if they are raised according to norm.

2. It seems that you have more problems rather than that issue like family finance, the people (girls) you have promise in Thailand.

Khmer educator makes difference. If youth is the future of the country and education is a sine qua non element of a country's development, without change in the status quot ante, Cambodia's future will be anything but bright.

Dear Bang Pesith, I am really proud of what you have done. This is some time look like crazy but it is one of significant warning message to the Norway authorities. Don't just be patient and patient!!!Patient is not good and work out as always.

Any way, this is good that your life were saved as on time otherwise the world will be lost a great activist person like you.

To be frankly, i have similar condition as you before and i would like to seek the comments and advice from you and the other former previous refugees too. If you all don't mind should email to lidahor@ymail.com

I would hope to hear from you and the other former refugees too as at the moment i am in the process of resettlement to the third countries.

Thanks you in advance for your kind heart and share on this.

Lim Piseth talked too much and pointed out wrongly about Martin Luther King Jr. leading civil rights movement and the cause in the 1800's.

It's a small matter but he gloated too much. He's too dramatic and thinks his self-importance .In boasting his attempt to commit suicide,it's cowardice.

Come on Piseth grow up...shame on you.

Anonymous said...

It's a laughable story:
No internet service,he committed suicide.

Did he know what he did to himself had caused the local taxpayers too much money in police services, emergency services, hospital expenses for his lack of critical thinking skills.

He acted like a spoiled child who couldn't get his way.

What a shame, he's too selfish and inconsiderate to the host government and residents.

Anonymous said...

I still cant figure out how can such an internet problem make this guy to commit suicide? it is so unreasonable. As I know people dont need to wait for months for the comapny to come for doing the connection for them but they can subscribe or buy the USB modem and use it right away anytime and anywhere as long as they have ID-card and family register in Norway. I dare guess he has more problems than this. it is crazy. and it is so self-centered to raised such an isuse to Martin Luther King and and other famous persons. Crazyyyy!!!!

Anonymous said...

634pm,
There you go.

Rightly Dr.King didn't commit suicide to get his way but he toughened it out of his humanity as an advocate for equality and rights to vote for all.

Unlike Piseth, the English man Stewart Mills did not reason on a personal and small stuff like internet.

Imagine his six kids and wife had followed him all the way to foreign land leaving all the friends and families behind then he abandoned them because he couldn't surf internet for a few months.

Not a good example for his kids not to say others.

Selfish man with a child brain!

What a drama!!!!

Dear Refugee guys, Hopefully after your resettlement has been successfully done you feel good and safe. But for me are boring and now still in process after getting Refugee status from UNHCR.

I would like to seek your comments and advice if possible. Please kindly email to lidahor@ymail.com

Hope to receive your advice and comments sooner from your open heart guys.

Best wish,

With growing up and as a parent living abroad, his acts and conducts in life will dictate and affect his kids future job, especially, the one that required serious clearance.

In country like Norway, every citizen or legal immigrant should have an official record that will be an important factor in kids life.

A suicidal/mental unstable parent will definietly be not a good record for the kid sake.

If Khmer do not care about Khmer who will?

You should raise this issue to all levelof Norway government.

Because you were raised by Hun Sen and become spoiled. Internet is very small issue you can go to library or others place.

I do not want to see the front page 'Khmer refugee committed suicide for internet while waiting for connection' or other headline 'Refugee came from country that only 0.00000001% of population can gain access to internet killed himself for delay connection'

This guy really fuck up!
no body care what you are going to do as your refugee status in norway.
Now make me understand more and more about thi fuck up guy, why he can't live in Cambodia?

Anonymous said...

I totally agree with your comment.

Anonymous said...

Many commentors here missed the point. The real issue is NOT the Internet. It is INJUSTICE in society that he tried to correct. Though using his life to correct it is an ultimate sacrifice and a bit too extreme, it is indeed the most powerful act in a freedom loving, caring society like Norway.
I admire you for your action.

From a Khmer journalist in USA

Anonymous said...

I like your action. Be proud for Khmer!

Anonymous said...

Dear Piseth,
I can only agree with some of your argument.I also congratulate to you for you to have achieved your goal. But the man who has complained about you was also not wrong. What you have achieved is only your good luck. But it is a warning to Norway government too for their reconsideration to take more refugee from Cambodia. That is a true story too because they felt very embarrassing for what you have done to them. At present, they will fix everything for you but they would think twice for next refugee. Lucky, that you are taking your own life instead creating terrorist against other people as happening in Danamak recently for your lost of patience. Please do not repeat that mistake again. That is not a good role model.

1:54am,

What injustice?

Remember Norway extended its kindness and pity to save his life already. Yet he wanted Norway to suck up to his childish ways.

There countless deadly ways to kill self, but why pills?

What a shame!

Yea in the free world have a lot of think better to camplaint than Internet and you try to explain is not the internet
Ha Ha is not internet why it happen? Hospital bill you should pay for that problem maker.

I got my Phd without internet why can't you?.

If you want to correct injustice there are thousand means you can use in democratic society.

You are not role model for young generation especially your kids, they will kill themselves even they can not solve small problem.

If you can not give justice to yourself and your family who will?

Your health will gradully deteriorate. You wasted Norway taxpayer money for your treatment this is not included wellfare and benefit that pay for your living and education.

you are not deserve to die but God give you second chance please next time use wisely.

THIS GUY IS A FRAUD HE WAS NOT GOING TO KILL HIMSELF. HE FAKED HIS DEATH FOR POPULARITY, THIS IS WHAT SAM RAINSY PEOPLE ALWAYS DOES. HE IS NOT SERIOUS ABOUT WHAT HE DOES; HE IS A FARCED FROM CAMBODIA. MAN IT IS ASHAME TO HAVE THIS GUY AS OUR BROTHER(KHMER).

Lem Piseth said...

Dear Borasith,
I respect your freedom of speech. But to be honest, it was real and I was in a bad situation that I could not find any solution to help myself then. But now I am being awake and think that there are million ways to do to fight for justice and freedom beside committing suicide. Thanks to Mr. Øyvind from Batteriet (Bymisjon) who was the first person to contact the doctors and police to survive me. Thanks to a group of medical workers from Arendal hospital and Grimstad police who survived me on time. Thanks to doctors and nurses at the hospital and I would love to promise that I will never do it, but still keep the concept of fighting for equal rights and freedom both physically and spiritually.
You said that people from the opposition, Sam Rainsy party (SRP), always act fraudulently. That is your right to expression of your speech. But first, let me clarify that I am NOT a member of SRP or member of any political party in Cambodia since the fall of Buddhist Liberal Democratic Party (BLDP) in mid 1990s. And I do not believe that all people from SRP party always cheat and falsify the stories. I agree that there is a small number of people in this party who do it, but most people in SRP are good and some of them are the victims of human rights and freedom abuses in Cambodia. These situations are not happening only to people in SRP, but also to people or members of other political parties including the ruling party, Cambodian People Party (CPP) and people from non-political parties. I would appreciate it very much if we could avoid generalization.
Even though I am NOT a member of any political party in Cambodia, I am a member of one of the Norwegian political parties with a potential to win the next election in Norway, and I think if this dream comes true, refugees and immigrants in this country will be living in better condition. And it will be also good for future relationship between Cambodia and Norway.
To prove the fact about what happened to me recently (Suicide or Just creating), anyone including Borasith can come to Grimstad police and doctors in Arendal hospital who survived me.
However, your opinion is considered freedom of your speech.
Keep sharing!
In mid December, we will stop talking about suicide, but will have a debate between two concepts of “Respect” and “Submission” as Mr. Michael suggested:
“The core problem of this debate should be: what is the difference between ‘Respect’ and ‘Submission.’ To many Asian cultures, there has been a confused understanding between these two principals. ‘Respect’ is important to uphold a mutual understanding in the human societies. But ‘Submission’ is a negative setback for our civilization. It brings nothing but further oppression and a complete destruction at the final end. The refugees who arrive in a new country have to respect the constitution, law, and regulation of the host countries. But they do not have to submit themselves to the unjust oppression or the arbitrary obligations,” (Michael, 15 November 2011)
I hope Borasith could join in discussion in mid December (As I need to take the exams in the following weeks, I could not do it until mid December.)
Respectfully Yours,
Lem Piseth

Hello mr Borasith, I just want to tell you that the story about Piseth Lem is true. he is my friend, and I visited him at the hospital, and drove him home to Grimstad, when the doctors said he was able to leave the hospital. He is not a liar, but a homest, respectful and humble man that is just seeking justice.

Dear all,
I have no words to share with all of you, but some principles that you should take into account for rights, freedom and justice in you, your family, your group, your community and your society.

"1) Do micro, messo or macro institutions promote flourishing?
- Utilitarianism: Do the institutions maximize happiness for the whole sentient creation?
- Rights: Do the institutions promote or detract from the rights and duties associated with basic human rights?
- Justice: Do the institutions promote survival, equal moral value and the max-min principle?
2) If the institutions (laws, norms, values, and regulations) are inadequate, what can I do?
- Seek to influence the terms of the exchange in positive direction.
- Adopt strategies and policies that seek to avoid situations which inhibit flourishing (such as corruption)
- Avoid certain markets/situations
- Seek different strategic alliances
- Insist on transparency
- Engage in benign civil disobedience…” (Sullivan in Falkenberg A., 2007)
