Prime Minister Hun Sen called for improved relations between Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam during sideline discussions with high-ranking officials from the three countries at a meeting in Phnom Penh yesterday.
Hun Sen’s personal spokesman, Eng Sophalleth, said the premier had spoken with Huynh Dam, president of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front delegation, and Phan Douangchit Vongsa, president of the Lao Front for National Construction, during a meeting between the three countries at the Hotel Cambodiana.
“Prime Minister Hun Sen appealed to the leaders for the three countries to boost trilateral co-operation in trade, economic and social development,” Eng Sophalleth said, adding that there had been no detailed discussions on specific projects.
Hun Sen’s appeal was reiterated in a memo of co-operation by the three countries that came out of the meeting.
“The three parties have committed to extend the tradition of positive joint co-operation,” the memo states.
National Assembly president Heng Samrin highlighted the border demarcation issue between Vietnam and Cambodia, saying that it had made much progress recently and was nearly resolved.
Huynh Dam and Phan Douangchit Vongsa said the three countries had many things in common.

This dumb Hun Sen had no idea what he was talking about. He just was chanting the same speech or words like in the old KR meeting. There is only one direction import of goods from Vietnam because everything is a lot cheaper there. Even fruits, meats, and vegetables have to be imported from Vietnam. Hun Sen does not understand better economy for Cambodia, but he does not care anyway. He could make Cambodia for better investment if he eliminates corruption. He knows his CPP crony gives him a lot of money from corruption. Those CPP members extort a lot of money from business. The business in turn charge higher prices for materials, electricity, and etc. That is why everything very expensive to make in Cambodia. What is the hell with social development that Hun Sen was talking about?
Why don't we all Cambodian joint hand and votes for MP SAMRAINSY so we can overthrow the mafia Hun Xen. Then we can rebuild our country.
