A young bride has died of a sudden heart attack at the age of just 27 while on her honeymoon in Cambodia.

Pretty Kristy Cadman-Jones and her husband Damian married in Scraptoft, Leicester, in July last year and set off on their four-week tour of south-east Asian country just before Christmas.

Her family are believed to have travelled out to Cambodia and have been given support by the British Foreign Office in efforts to return her body to the UK.

Family and friends have paid tribute to a 'loving and generous woman' who had married her partner Damian just six months previously.

Kristy, whose maiden name was Heslop, lived with Damian in Broughton Astley, Leics., and died on January 8.

Damian, who has now returned to the couple's home, was yesterday too distraught to speak about what happened.

A statement released by her family said: 'We are devastated by the loss of Kristy who passed away on her honeymoon in Cambodia at the tender age of 27 after heart and cardiovascular system arrest.

'Kristy was a warm, loving and generous young woman with her whole life ahead of her.'

Kristy's mother-in-law Valerie Cadman-Jones posted on social networking website Facebook: 'To all that knew my wonderful daughter-in-law, she will be greatly missed.

'May the angels take good care of her, and watch over Damian in his time of need.'
Heart attacks in young people are usually caused by a pre-existing and often undiagnosed heart condition. Most people under age of 40 who suffer a heart attack will have a significant family history of heart disease.

Kristy who began her career as a trainee reporter for the Birmingham Post, worked as a branch manager for the recruitment company Robert Half at its offices in Grove Park, Leicester.

Phil Sheridan, managing director for Robert Half, sent out a statement paying tribute to Kristy.

He said: 'Kristy has played a key role in our Leicester division and we are all extremely saddened by this news. Our thoughts and sympathy are with Damian, family and friends during this most sorrowful time.'

Friends have also left a string of tributes on Facebook.

Clare Phillips wrote: 'Its just so shocking and terrible. She was so wonderful and so full of life. At least her last day was with her soul mate.'

Verity Johnson posted: 'Devastating news. Love going out to all the people the cherished you so dearly, what a cruel blow from life.

'Kristy Cadman-Jones, you certainly knew how to make a lasting impression, R.I.P.'
Another friend, Libby Norbury, posted: 'She was a legend and always said hello with such genuine warmth. My heart goes out to Damian and their family and friends, remembering her as the shining star she was.'

Her father-in-law Adam McHenry said: 'To all those who know, my love is passed on.

'To all my friends who don't know, a very dear friend and family member has died unexpectedly in Cambodia. Thanks for all the kind words.

'It means the world to know that so many people who didn't know her care about the ones left behind, to everyone that did know her you know what I mean, such a wonderful, outgoing and genuinely inspiring person taken from us in her prime, whilst in a foreign country.

'My heart goes out to her husband and all the family. I'd move heaven and earth to change the situation and I use that phrase with sincerity and gravitas and my heart goes out to Damian, Carol, John and everyone else that she touched.'
